Very quiet, even on high tension setting. Only drawback(s) - getting the handlebars on and to stay on securely was a bear; their directions are not how I was able to get it on. Both that L handle and one for seat are too long for distance between cycle frame and attachments so have to have handle pulled down (if you can get it to attach to begin with) and then use enclosed tool to turn bolt on L handle (so handle not moving, just the screw/bolt into seat/handlebars). Also, I am 5' 7 1/2" and it almost feels like can't get seat and handlebars close enough for length of my body. I feel like the piece that one of them (seat or handlebars) attaches to needs to be turned the other way around..............so would have to say if you are short, either don't buy this cycle or you'll have to have someone drill holes in other side of seat and handlebar posts so you can utilize them going the opposite direction then they're supposed to (that will make it so seat and handlebars can be closer to eachother).
