I have been looking for an affordable piece of workout equipment for months. My Gyro is the best machine I have ever purchased. It tones, strengthens and gives you so many flexible options. I have been using it for a couple of months now and I am truly pleased. I don't even know where to begin, as far as, telling you the "best" feature about it. It is extremely easy to use and if you think that you have mastered the basics, there is always a new way discovered to put it to excellent use. I love my Gyro so much that I moved it into my bedroom so it's the first thing I see in the morning. I have other machines that are located in another part of the house that I just pass by without even thinking to use. My Gyro is something I feel compelled to use everyday. I use it when watching tv, listening to music or doing arm curls while surfing the net. Not many machines allow you to do that. Putting it together is surely a task, but definitely worth it. I put it together myself and haven't stopped using it since. For anyone out there who is looking for a machine that is truly worth the money, this is the machine for you. It includes a video to get you started so there are no more excuses. I was not a fan of exercising until now! BUY IT; TRY IT; YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

This arrived in good time and condition, considering I spent less than 3 bucks on shipping. The box weighed about 150 pounds so it took two men to move it anywhere. My guy and a friend assembled the machine using the instructions included in a few hours, with no hitches--so assembly was very acceptable. The unit itself is really neat, and, nice. I've been working out on it now for several weeks, and, tried a lot of different things on it. The best things about this machine are: it can be used by a number of people, of different size and with different fitness goals and abilities with no problem. It provides the strength and flexibility you're looking for. The only negatives are: It didn't come with any written instructions for use, only a videotape--and since we don't use television at our house, we had to borrow a portable unit, and commit to watching the video along with the workout until we could get it memorized. I called www.staminasales.com and they were kind enough to send me a couple of wall charts of exercises, but, they don't quite match the tape so....small problem for those of us who are too busy to think about stuff like that. The plastic thingies that protect the top hand strap from the pully assembly are too fragile; I accidentally lost grip on one of them one time, and when it snapped up, it broke upon impact. This doesn't interfere with use of the unit, it just annoyed me. Lastly, I have to say the video that accompanies the unit is a little annoying, the woman narrator just says silly things like, "really play with it, have fun with it....this should feel like you're getting a massage...." ...when you're doing something really demanding on the machine. All in all, I'd buy it again, or recommend it to a friend.

I got this item in 4 days(two of them being Christmas Eve and Christmas) Talk about awsome shipping, It was easy to put together and is easy to use. I can feel it streching me out and toning me up, great machine for a simple home work out.

I think this is a great product. I have major back problems and sciatica so I need to be stretching a lot. I've been using it for about 4 weeks now and it's great for releasing a lot of the tension and tightness in my back and legs. I definitely recommend it.

I bought this as a Christmas gift a year and a half ago. The instructions to put it together were there.... and my family didn't seem to have too much trouble. However, it did not come with a manual for how to USE the machine and the VHS that was included was broken. My husband has never been able to use it. He also complains that it is meant for someone who needs light weights or wants to get started with something light. We are very disappointed and wish we had sent this back when we originally opened the box and discovered there were no instructions on how to use the thing! You get what you pay for- CHEAP.

Great ;product. But there is no picture guide to the exercies. Just a VCR tape, and many of us no longer have VCRs. If I want pictures or a DVD then I need to pay another $ 20. That should have been included.

this is a deal, its a good solid machine i was pleasantly suprised.if you want something to tone and stretch and built this can be your ticket!

I was very happy with the ease in ordering this product and the on time delivery. The Transformer was very easy to set up and I love that it folds up. The exercises feel great and I'm looking forward to learning more. Make sure you watch the video carefully.

This item was really very simple to assemble. Took about 1 hour, with my 7 year old sons "help". Instructions were easy to follow. I do think there needs to be more resistance in the springs, so I will pursue heavier springs. These must have been hanging around for awhile...VHS tapes? If I can go back in time, I will watch for tips. Overall, I think this was a really good deal, and a good value for anyone looking to tone and shape.

I am very pleased with this workout. I am in my mid 50's and find that it is just what I would need for upper body workouts. I am glad that I took the chance and bought it. Took my husband about 1.5 hours to put together without any real problems. The video is very informative, too.

First let me comment that I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED w/OVERSTOCK's SHIPPING. I ordered this producted Sat/Sun and received the product 4 days later. The shipping instructions state 1-6 wks for oversized items, so I was shocked to see it on my door step on Thursday. It took me about 2.5 hours to put together. After putting it together, I asked myself why it took that long. The instructions of course are and are not clear. For the amount of money I paid for the item and for shipping, I am satisfied. This product is a cheaper version of Bowflex. However, I was very athletic as a child and still have my muscle mass just accompanied with the typical older out of shape athlete fat. I am afraid that the the product will break. I will have to wait and see. I love the fact that it folds up. LOVE IT LOVE IT. I have a treadmill and this GyroTonic product in my dining room. I wasn't impressed that it came with a VHS tape. Who has VHS? So I am assuming this product is left overs from years ago. The VHS tape was dated 2003. For the price, I am satisified.

After slowly assembling it and having had a couple of errors quickly corrected, it looked bigger that expected and I also felt wasn¿t too practical.Then looking at the tape I realized that there are many more possibilities than I had imagined. It is indeed an excellent toning and stretching system.So I advise look at the tape even before putting it together, as at the end of the 30 minute workout they have an overview.I still have to find where to buy the second level tape. Get it and get busy!

I've received the Gyrotonic 1000 and been working out on it. I am very impressed with the quality and performance of the product -- much beyond what the price might lead one to expect . It was not difficult to put together, although it did take a fair amount of concentration and care to follow the steps. It looks like not enough hardware is included, but many bolts are already in place and just need to be unscrewed and then reapplied following the directions. It is sturdy -- a bit of wobble in the bench to accommodate the folding action, but I don't fold it so I tightened the bolts all the way. The yoga/stretching aspect of the machine and the videotape is fabulous. I have 3 curves in my spine and can't do traditional yoga as I've never been comfortable sitting on the floor, but the stretching exercises on the bench feel SO good. The Stamina website offers additional parts and tapes, including a much heavier set of coils for true weight lifting.The only possible negative might be for someone very tall -- I'm a 6'0" woman with pretty long legs (35 inseam) and the bench is *just* long enough for me on some of the exercises.

I love this machine! It arrived quickly and was easy to put together! (I did it all by myself while watching a movie.) It springs are easy to change and is pully system makes it so easy to use the machine without straining myself! I am definately going to recommend this product to friends!

The movements using this excercise machine may not be what you are used to but it has a great full body workout. The excercises are easy on the joints and may be a little difficult to remember, but once you watch the tape and follow along it becomes more fluid and productive. My husband assembled the machine is less than an hour with no difficulties. We will have to order more springs for my husband's use as the tension for him is too easy. This is not a body building machine, but a great machine to tone the whole body.

This was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. It came with in 4 days of putting in the order, no problems or damage. Putting it together took a few hours, but wasn't too hard. We are very happy with this product.

After reading the other reviews before my purchase, I was a little leary as I am disabled and worried about the "put together time". While normal people were saying 3 hours, I figured it would take me twice that if not more,,,but I needed a comfortable way to exercise. This was it!!! I'm so happy that I purchased this machine,,it only took me a tad over 4 hours to put together as some of it came pre-assembled (a happy surprise). The paint job wasn't the best which is why the 4 star on workmanship,,,but everything else was 5 star. I have been going slowly in the progress of the exercises and so far have been able to adapt the machine to my special needs and even after this short while of using it,,,I can feel a difference. This was the best Christmas present I ever gave myself!!! I highly recommend it!

This machine is great. It only took about an hour to an a hour and a half to put together. The manual looks confusing but is really simple once you get started. It works great for me. However, when my fiance tried using the machine, it was too easy for him. The resistance is pretty strong for a female but for a male, stronger resistance rods may need to be purchased and they run $99.00 for 6 powercoils that increase resistance up to 300%. If you are a female and looking for a great workout, then this machine is for you!!! Sorry Guys!!!

I'M GETTING ON IN AGE AND IN NEED OF A LOT OF EXERCISE DO TO PASS INJURIES I HAVE FOUND THAT HAVING THIS EXERCISE EQUIPMENT IN HOUSE IS THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO KEEP FIT SO I CAN KEEP UP WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN.

This machine is a great deal for the money. Great for resistance excersise. It came in good condition for a heavy box but was disappointed when it had to be literally put together EACH peice. It was overwhelming. A marriage breaker for sure if you try to put it together with your spouse. Also no cd available only VHS for instruction! So far I use it alot.Enjoy it.
