Nice comfort
Excellent comfort and wick moisture well. It feels like walking on air. The problem is the piling. The socks look old after the first wash. I suppose okay under long pants. I wanted to use them with shorts, but they look like something an old man would wear (I'm 56)

Great socks!
You're going to love anything that is SmartWool. The socks are made so they fit snugly around your instep and around your ankles. You do need to remember to let them dry naturally or else buy a larger size because they will shrink.

keep your feet warm
Out of the packaging these didn't feel 100% soft but wearing them was fine. Very cushy and soft ... NO itchy feeling at all. They kept my feet very comfortable (warm) at the barn whether I was wearing leather boots or rubber boots. They aren't too thick. Machine washing and drying are a plus.

comfy socks
These socks are extremely comfy for hiking however I did not find that they "wicked away" as well as I had hoped - feet still a little cold.

Smart Socks
My husband wears sandals year around because of a back problem and he has found these sock keep his feet warm and dry unlike regular socks. He loves them and wears them everyday. The socks wash wonderfully and look good enough to wear to work every day. I give them a thumbs up all the way around.
