These are great to slip into with regular snow boots - a minimal investment for a beginner toddler skier. They fell off my daughter a couple times, but the straps are adjustable and can be tightened, both around toes and ankles. We didn't use the poles, so I can't comment on them, but the plastic on the baskets is very flexible, not rigid - just a minor observation. Also, I think it would be tough to use edgy-wedgies with these to keep the tips together because they are so round. Overall, I would say these serve the purpose and are worth the money. We will use them again several times this winter. I would recommend them.
