skatemom1 from Annapolis, md, Rating:5.0I purchased these because I have wide feet and after reading the reviews I thought they might do the job. I am a casual skater, mostly with my kids after lessons and on weekends, so nothing fancy. I wear a 6.5 wide, ordered these in a 6 and they fit perfectly. The rental skates were killing me, but one I got these I could skate much longer and more comfortablly. Definitely don't buy these if your feet are on the narrow side! For me these are perfect, I have nothing bad to say about them.

flower0813 from Orlando, Fl, Rating:5.0My daughter & I recently took up ice skating in Sunny Florida & we needed skates to avoid weekly rental skates. I got the Alpine 800 for myself and the Lake Placid Sport Figure Skate for her. The Alpines are much nicer in quality & I would have gotten these for her as well but O.Co didn't have her size. Very nice fleece lining, boot is very nice - looks like leather though it is not, & lace hook eyelets are sturdy. I am very pleased with these skates & would HIGHLY recommend them. Be sure to order 1-size smaller than your street shoe (possibly even 1 1/2 times smaller) becasue they run VERY LARGE!! I wear a 7 shoe & ordered these in a 6.....I considered returning them because they were still a little large.....but I kept them & the are fine with thicker socks.

flower0813 from Orlando, Fl, Rating:5.0We purchased these ice skates for my 12 year old daughter to avoid rental skates at the local ice rink. She says that they are very smooth on the ice and feel much better that rentals. For the price, the quality is nice. Inside lining could be more substanial (these are lined with cloth/padding. I purchased another Lake Placid skate for myself (The Alpine 800 -slightly more $$) and it was lined with fleece......much nicer. For starter skates, I would definintely recommend these. Be sure to go down one size from what you regularly wear because these are much larger in size.
