I highly recommend this game. It is very entertaining. It is great for a single player or a group. It is good for middle schoolers and up because they are doing math and do not realize it. It is good for seniors to help keep their minds active and it is entertaining for them. The amount of fun provided for the cost is a great return on your investment.

The game works great, I got it to practice addition facts with my granddaughter. She enjoys playing it. However, there is a smell from the green felt lining that smells like it has been in storage a long time. It gave me a headache when we played. I am currently trying baking soda to remove the smell.

Bought this to play mostly with our grandkids - aged 5 to 12. It was wonderful. Really helped the younger ones with their math skills and it was simple, easy and fun to play. Found the kids playing by themselves when we weren't available. Very durable construction so didn't have to worry about breakage. It arrived in record time so we were extremely pleased with that. Highly recommend. Would even be fun for adults with some gambling involved.

This was a gift for my sister. She's a mathematician, so I thought that made the game a bit more appropriate. Plus, it's kind of pretty, and at the time I purchased it, this game seemed a bit unusual. She and her family enjoyed it.

I ordered this on a whim for a family Christmas Present. Everyone has had a lot of fun with this game. It can be played alone or in a group. I have it sitting on my coffee table and find my family picking up the dice and throwing all by themselves, just to see if they can "Shut the Box"

I was looking for a Hanukkah gift for my son who's 46 and since he and his family love board games I started checking the web for ideas. I kept coming across lots of great reviews for the Shut the Box game, which I had never heard of. I had my daughter-in-law check it out, and she thought it would be a great game for them.A lot of reviews on the game recommended the 12 number version over the 9 number one. More challenging! I checked with my son and grandson (10 yo) and they both said the game was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed it.

This is a GREAT game for kids learning numbers and addition. I volunteered in a Kindergarten and kept 4 kids rivited to this game for about 45 minutes by offering stickers for each box they open. The lids on these boxes are a little loose, you could probably find one constructed better, but this was the only box I found that goes 1 -12. It's also a fun pub-type game.

I recently purchased the"shut the box" box game to take on a week long family vacation to California. During the day we went sightseeing and did some shopping. In the evening we stayed at our Villa and played shut the box. We had a variety of ages within our group. We had a few College students and some High School students and then of course the adults.. This game was easy and alot of fun to play!!! The wooden box is made very sturdy and of good quality. Believe it or not-I think the highlight of our vacation was playing "shut the box" with everyone!!! Christmas is right around the corner so I would definately purchase this game as a great gift for some of my family members and friends!!!

I had played Shut the Box at a friends and was surprised to see it on Overstock.com. Very happy with my purchase for the price. The game is fun for adults and children.

I bought this as a gift for my dad and brother in law. They both love it. Although the box is not able to be "shut" like some people have complained, I think they are missing the point. It's the name of the game, not a literal point. The construction on the two I received varied a bit but both work well and have already received their fair share of use. I plan on getting one for myself as well. I would say buy it for a fun game that can be played by people of all ages.
