This kit was very disappointing. One of the rocks was missing, you needed tweezers to hold the magnifying glass and the instructions/experiments were jumbled and confusing. You could easily just go in the back yard and pick up rocks and download some basic info off the internet and you would have a kit two times better than this.

I ordered these for Easter to put in a basket for my 5 granddaughters. I think they will be fun to put on their walls and ceiling.

Don't buy this is for are looking for a model of Curiosity. It's so small I could barely put it together (little over an inch long I think). If you are buying for the Mars sand that may be a different story.

    electric motor boat

    ruffrider7  from ATL, Rating:4.0

A simple project to learn electric motors. The boat itself is plastic and not the best qulaity, but, the focus is the electric motor. the plastic parts needed to be smoothend around popoout edges, so something better than the small piece of sandpaper provided may be needed. Otherwise, it worked!

We had a really great time making this on Christmas Day. It was like an art and science project in one, the whole took us several hours, first building the frame for the volcano, then plaster strips and dry time, followed by painting, more drying and then blast off. We recommend you use food coloring in the baking powder and vinegar for the full effect, Awesome! great memory made with this kit!
