I purchased 2 of these for my children (8, 6, & 5) thinking the oldest would not like it. What a mistake, now they have to take turns. I can't wait for the to be restocked. While working in a pre-school I brought one in one day. I think the teachers had more fun than the kids. They definately work best on a flat surface. The hardwood floors of my living room and dining room have become an indy raceway.
I bought this for my son's 4th birthday. It works great in the kitchen and on the hardwood floors, but when we took it outside it was very difficult to get it moving on the sidewalk and asphalt. I let one of the older boys in the building try it out and he was able to make it move a little better. After about 1/2 hour of this, the wheels started to get a little chewed up so I'm not sure if this is really durable for a lot of outdoor riding. But, in the house it's great. I wish I had a bigger room for him to ride this thing.
I bought this for my friend's 4 year old for his birthday. As soon as it was opened there were children and adults riding it all day long. Everyone loved the idea. The construction is sturdy and the product is easy to assemble (make sure you have the socket wrench available) the tool that comes with the toy doesn't tighten enough. All in all I would buy one for my kids and maybe my husband too!
I was very pleased with the construction and ease of assembly of this car, and even more pleased that it really is sturdy enough for an adult - I love it! But the kids really love it. The older one takes her little sister for rides, and the little one pushes herself around (she is only 18 months, and doesn't get the concept - to her it is a great scooter, though!). The only reason I don't give it a 5 overall is I wish it had a bit more of a lip on the back for safety, but it's not an issue when used as intended for one rider. It is also hard to get much momentum, but that is good for the little ones. Fun toy!
My son and his family recently visited. I bought the coaster for my granddaughter to use since we have a circular drive perfect for any kids' riding toys. The coaster's steering wheel did loosen up initially and it took my son's strength to crank on the steering wheel bolt with the racheting socket wrench (tool provided will not suffice). My 3 yr old granddaughter and 35 year old son had a ball on the coaster. She was zooming by using her feet and even going uphill using the zigzag motion. It was a hit with all ages. Even grandma got to ride.
I bough 2 of these so the kids could have races with them, well let me tell you, they have had a ball. When it rains outside my son rides around in my basement, he just loves it. Very easy to assemble. If you got kids, these are Fun! Fun! Fun!
I love this scooter. Our 16 yrs. old son is handicapped and it's very hard to find toys for him to enjoy this works perfect and he is a little guy 90 lbs and 5Ft. but this works great for him. I have recommended this to a friend and they to love it.
My 3 year old is an avid bike rider and loves his scooter. I believed this coaster car to be a great addition to his vehicle collection. When I read the reviews I thought the car would be fast and fun and "scoot" along... however it barely moves with great effort. My son still tries to ride it, but gets frustrated with it quickly and moves on to his bike or scooter. I still cannot figure out how to get this thing moving, it creeps along as you frantically wiggle the steering wheel back and forth. In frustration, my son tries to ride it down our steep drive just to get some speed, but that doesn't work either for it has an odd wheel set in the front that make it impossible to go downhill. Even in perfect flat conditions it barely moves with a considerable amount of effort. Big Disappointment! I love Overstock stuff, but this one is a real loser.
This little car reaps big benefits! I originally bought two of these cars as a birthday gift for our little twin grandchildren. I though they might be a little yound for them, but I was sure they would grow into them soon. I was wrong, they got on and took off! These cars are really fun, not only for the very little ones, but, the older children (ages 5 & 7) have a terrific time with them also. Even their mom gave it a try! I have reordered four more cars to have on hand to give as birthday gifts to our other grandchildren as their birthday's come up. As you can probably tell, I am a fan of this product.
This is a great little car for kids. It is so much better than the plastic Little Tykes stuff! My kids play with it a lot and I've even taken a trip down the driveway on it. It's fun, well made, and very smooth riding. We use it on a black top driveway.
This is the neatest thing anyone has ever come out with!! Ordered it for my grandsons birthday and he is 2..He had a blast,,and so did I, we both rode on it together..as a matter of fact I'm going to order another for me to ride while he rides his..very easy assembly, and loads of fun, no pedals or batteries to charge.. A great kids item and Adults also...would highly recommend to everyone..
I bought this for my 3 yr. old daughter. She's still learning how to get it going, but loves to ride it. My nieces and nephews love to ride it as well when they come to visit. It works great on smooth surfaces, however it is more difficult to get it moving on rough surfaces such as gravel. I would recommend this to anyone with children.
Three kids ride our coaster: the two year old can sit on the coaster and scoot it along with her feet; the 2.5 year old can propel herself using the handles (although she can't yet keep her balance reliably, so she tips if the ground is unlevel); the 6 year old can propel and balance really easily - all three think it's great fun! The seat is long enough that the 2 and 2.5 year olds can sit in front of an adult for a fun, safe ride. The coaster was very easy to assemble (the 2 year old helped), it took less than 10 minutes to assemble. The coaster is lightweight and fits in our car trunk, so we can take it to the park easily. We added a tow rope so we can pull it back up hill or use it to pull the younger children. We're really happy with this toy, and we'll get years of play out of it since it appeals to such a wide range of ages.
It only works going down hill. I wasn't really impressed. I saw one at our local fair for sale, and never got it, but I wished I did. I would've paid a little more but got something worth it. This one tips over, and the platic is cheap. Very unimpressed, and I was so excited to get it too!
