Works well at fifty yards. Difficult to see with at 100 yards or more.

My experience with spotting scopes has been limited to a Bushnell Sentry 20X50 that finally failed after 25 years of use. The Rokinon is considerably brighter and sharper than the old Bushnell, I can easily see .22 holes in the target at 100 yards so it is fine for the range. The supplied tripod is pretty flimsy so I am using the old sturdy but heavy Bushnell tripod. Bird watching is a bit problematic, I would like to find the bird at 20X then zoom to 60X for a closer look. The zoom lens on my sample is so stiff I have a problem adjusting it without moving the scope off the bird. I have less problem with zooming when using the scope with a Bushnell car window mount tripod so the solution may be a very sturdy tripod. The zoom may free up after more use and this is the only problem I've had so I am very pleased with the Rokinon. The Rokinon is a generic product, The scope came in a plain black box, there is no brand name on the scope, no warranty card or address or phone for Rokinon. Overstock gives a 30 day return option but good luck on any further warranty. The scope comes in a very nice carrying case large enough for the scope and my Bushnell tripod. The optics are very good and, except for the included tripod, the scope seems very sturdy. The price is what makes this Spotting scope an exceptional deal it does everything it is supposed to do and does it very well. I am going to give one to my son for christmas.

Very good optics for the price. Not many hunters need 60X magnification but this scope is good value for lots of other uses.
