I am stationed in Iraq and sent the boat to my son - so I have not even seen the product. However my wife is thoroughly happy with it. It doed interfere with her personal time because my son is frequently begging here to go to the park where he launches his boat on a man made lake. The residual benefit is that now the share more quality time. Its an excellent toy for a 4 year old - and maybe a 13 year old - my older boy is asking for one. Some toys inproves a familys quality of life - this is one.

This boat is totally cool, I bought it for my son's 6th birthday and he had no problem controlling it at all. He did dunk the remote a few time but so far it has bounced back and still works. The boat is really fast and seems to be pretty stable as it flies across the water. We tried it in Lake Michigan and it stood up to choppy conditions. The downside was the antenna stick keeps coming loose on the boat and I wish the remote would have been waterproof.

We bought this for my Dad (and my boys) to use on a small pond and are very happy with it's performance. It has great speed and manuverability and is easy to work. The battery does wear down a bit quickly, but otherwise it was a great gift!

The boat works great in the water but after about three uses, the radio controller on/off switch broke - it wouldn't move to the "on" position and then when pushed, it snapped off. I opened the hand controller unit up to try and reattach the switch it but it was of such poor quality, it wasn't worth the effort. I would not recommend this item.
