I knew these were very cheap knives when I purchased them. I knew what I was getting. The blades are full-tang hardened steel (like a saw blade). The factory edge is pretty sharp and just a little honing made them very sharp. I wouldn't try to shave with one, though. The sheaths are cheap loose knap leather and were not made to fit these knives. If the knives are inserted blade up the sheaths work, though.
