    We bought this bike specifically because it has both hand brakes and coaster brakes. This was important to my almost-eight-year-old daughter. My husband had difficulty getting the front brake cables assembled correctly so we just left those off. I'm not sure if it was assembler error or manufacture. Regardless, the back break and coaster brakes work just fine. My daughter seems to love it and I'm hopeful it will last her at least two years. The 20" bike is a bit big for her but it didn't take long for her to get used to it.
