arrived on time. Helmet fits very well, and is snug & attractive. Took on several rides- solid protective gear. price is fantastic- you cant find better elsewhere highly recommend
This is a DOT-rated helmet, which, if you've read up on the Hurt Study, serves better than a Snell-rated helmet, in 400+ accidents in the real world. (Snell helmets transfer 100+ more G's of impact force to your head, in a blunt surface impact accident, than DOT helmets do, all because the Snell shell is harder, to save you from an impact with a plough blade, edge-on, which never occurred in any of the 400+ accidents studied by Dr. Hurt... All 400+ impacts were with blunt surfaces such as curbs, road surfaces, and other blunt surfaces.) The sizing is good, the internal shape is similar to their standard, inexpensive, full-face helmets available all over, for very similar pricing. The only issue I have is with the vent louvers: they are either all-the-way open, or completely closed, they won't stay in the middle positions. My wife told me she couldn't feel any air flowing inside, while riding, but I saw her bangs moving in the air flow, with the visor down, so there is air movement, whether you can feel it, or not. I highly recommend this helmet to all cyclists who wear eyeglasses. Cheers!
Not a lot of padding inside helmet so road noise is extremely loud. I have to wear earplugs to block out the noise.
The large size helmet I ordered was a snug fit for my not so large head. So, it was a bit uncomfortable for the first few days, but got better with use. Helmets should fit like that otherwise you lose some protection. I don't know why the site does not have a picture of the full glossy black one that I ordered. At least what I got was in line with my expectations. I am docking one star because moving the visor up and down does not go smoothly everytime. Otherwise, this is an excellent helmet.
Helmet was shiped fast. fits well. I gave this item 4 stars for the follwing reasons. The only exception is the liner on one side has a little too much material and kinda takes up the space where ones ear should fit. Other than that I ordered the L Black expecting it to be the BLACK and SILVER helmet shown in the picture but they actually sent an all BLACK helmet which there was no picture of or mention in the description. I was a little disapointed with that, but all the helmets design and other factors quickly nullified any disatification I had with the color, which really doesnt matter anyway as long as it does its J.O.B. Have fun and ride safe.
greaT HELMENT. ITS EVERYTHING A PERSON NEEDS TO GO BIKING
A very good value. Upside: Good looking (racy, but no demons crawling over your head); the visor and jaw work well; fits well on my average shaped head; sizing is true - large fits me perfectly. Downside: a bit loud; top line doesn't seem removable, making washing difficult; issue with one of the cheek pads refusing to stay snapped in; paint seems a bit subject to chipping. Overall, a very good use of your helmet dollar, unless you've got bucks to throw at a Shoei. PS: hard to believe these reviews don't allow LINEFEEDS.
I love my blue helmet, It matches my 2005 Suzuki 600 perfect. Feels Great too.
I bought a small size and its littile tight to my head but thats ok. One things I didnt like is the clearence between your chin and the flip up portion, its is too much gap that I get the high wind get inside and hit my eyes. it is not a good helmet for cold mornings. Overall 'OK' after I attached a foam piece to close the gap between my chin and the flip up thing.
Helmet looks good. Initially felt too snug. But ,now I feel better that it is snug, for safety . This is my first helmet, so not sure how it should be. But on my first long trip, after about 50 mins, the top of the helmet felt as if it were digging into the top of my skull. I do have a big head, so may not be problem for others, or pherhaps, I pulled it to tight??? Has good airflow when riding, on very hot muggy days! Inside may not be contructed as well as should be, but not sure as first helmet. But ,for the price and quality, I don't think it could be beat.
This helmet is a great buy for the price. The only issues I have are that visor and flip up face are pretty tight out of the box and difficult to manage on the fly. Hopefully, they'll both loosen a bit with use. Also, there aren't enough vents on the helmet to keep your head comfortable in hot weather. Overall, the helmet is a great deal and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend $200+ on a helmet, especially as a spare.
comparable helmets cost $300-$400 elsewhere. This is an excellent helmet. I wear size small ,ordered a small, and it fits perfectly.
Helmets are expensive. This one was such a great price. We also love that we can flip the whole front up. We had a full face helmet before that would suffocate us. This one is wonderful. We also added our own communication system and it works awesome.
WOW! given as a gift and it was an outstanding success. He wears it exclusively now and his others collect dust. It is cocmfortable, fits well, and looks great...colors even match his bike.
Great helmet and great value. Dual purpose with flip up front is sweet, especially in hot summer weather. The only issues I've run into are the sizes run a bit small (ordered an L, had to reorder an XL, which is still a bit smaller than my old Bell XL). Also, the D-ring strap has a fastener that keeps it out of the way - nice touch except it makes it more challenging to thread thru the D-rings - you gotta take your time. The graphics are very nice and the venting system is also good. Overall - top notch.
great helmet, I love riding with it flipped up and it stays on my head, I plan to buy another one.
