The retail on the jacket is $350, so it's a great deal at under $90. The jacket fits great, though it's true-to-size, not oversized, so if you're intending on wearing a ton of layers, go one size up. And Salmon is a pinkish-brown; this jacket was more brown than pink. The small pin stripe is beige/light grey. I'm extremely happy with the color, features, and cut of this jacket!
First I would agree that the jacket is not very "salmon" and more of a brownish hue, but I knew that going in, and is why I ordered it. I did order a size up, and am please because of the suggestions of wanting to layer. That being said, I don't think much layering would be needed. If you have a nice base layer, this jacket is insulated very well, and I use just the base layer and the jacket. Had I known this, I may have stuck with a medium. I'm keeping the large, only because my arms are long, and I like how this fits in the arms. I think it's very stylish, and get many compliments on the slopes. I don't think it's "old ladyish" at all.
One of the reviews said that it was not like a salmon so much as it was brown. If memory serves me correct. I really don't care for the color. It's not like a salmon at all, it's more like tan to brown. This sounds bad but the color reminds me of what an old lady would wear. I am 28 and I will not be wearing this jacket. But lets speak of the over all function of the jacket. Color aside it seems like it could be a great jacket . There are all sorts of pockets, snaps, zippers. I think if I gave this jacket a try I would be certain that I wouldn't be cold or overheat. I'm sad I don't like the color because for the price it is a phenominal jacket. I currently live in San Diego but I am from Minnesota where a good winter jacket is like gold. If this was in another color it would be just that, Gold. Oh and do order a size larger as suggested else where. LL
