My very handy husband had some difficulty getting the chain to work and the assembly instructions were not good, but he received quick and good help from the 800 number on the outside of the box. Also, one of the petals did not spin properly resulting in it falling off every 30 seconds or so. We ordered a new one--again the quick and good help from the number on the box. It was covered under the warranty--but it was a disappointment for my son who was eager to ride his bike after receiving it as a Christmas gift.
A few other complaints--the training wheels don't move up very far. Also, my average sized 6 year-old is almost too big for it. The seat post does not extend nearly as far as pictured. We had to order an after market post with the hopes he will still fit the bike through the summer.
We almost sent the bike back, but boxing it all up and shipping combined with the possibility of new problems with another bike changed our mind.
All in all, my son is happy--it's a nice looking bike. However, the problems were surprising to me for a bike in this price range. Next time I will buy a used bike. We've done better with free bikes at the end of driveways or even bikes from the local dump--places where you expect problems.
