4.5 out of 5The monitor detects within only a few seconds my heart rate, and adjusts along with my heart rate. But, keeping the strap snugly fit is difficult as I am female. So, the monitor will slip from time to time and lose contact. Also, I have to be sure the contacts remain wet as it will lose track of my heart rate as it dries up from slippage. The screen is very easy to read, and the functions are easy to use. Overall, it's a very simple product that gets the job done. The price is great, too!
I have been borrowing my fiance's for awhile and finally decided to invest in one of my own. The heart monitor is great to use during spinning classes or other aerobic work to keep track of my heart rate. I tend to overdo, so it reminds me to slow down. Also, I love using it at my gym when I on a treadmill, stairclimber, or elliptical machine, because the machines pick up my heart rate and display it (I don't even use the watch). This item was cheaper on Overstock than in the stores and with $1 delivery, it arrives at my door.
This is a great monitor for those like me who don't want a bunch of fancy features to figure out. The features are easy to navigate with a quick read of the instructions and it gives you all the information you need. The only problem I've experienced is interference with machines and other monitors at the gym. I didn't realize I needed a "coded" monitor in order to avoid this. I would recommend to anyone that will be using the monitor mostly in a gym environment to get the M32 or another one that is coded to avoid this.
I really enjoy this product. I use it daily and as a bonus when using Life Fitness machines the polar unit transmits my heart rate data to the equipment that I am using. That is so great because I hate holding the HRM on public equipment because it spreads germs. Ok crazy I know but it is a nice extra feature. The Polar HRM is exactly as pictured and works great.
I researched the Web and this basic monitor was ranked very high. I received mine in brand-new condition, read the pamphlet and had it up and running in 20 minutes. Monitor works great, strap & watch fit comfortably and I have had no issue whatsoever.
It was easy to step up and easy to use. I had no problem with it giving me my heart rate when I was running. It is light weight and felt comfortable. Would recommend it.
I purchased this heart rate monitor for my college age daughter's birthday. She ran cross country in high school, and said that this was the type (both brand and similar model) that they had used in high school. She was absolutely delighted with her gift; she told me that she has used it and it worked great. I can't report on difficulty to program, etc; it was like the one she was familiar with so it was not hard for her to figure out. It seems to be a good "workhorse" type heart rate model at a better price than I could find it anywhere else. (My ratings on durability and workmanship are a little premature because my daughter only received it two weeks ago.)
The product works just like I expected. I use it nearly every day during my cardio workouts and it performs consistently and accurately. The monitors' features allow me to keep my workouts in a "safe" zone while keeping track of the elapsed time and the time of day, if needed. I would recommend this product to others.
I bought this for my husband who is an exercise nut but turning 60 this year. He loved it! He was impressed with the quality and the ease of use. I hadn't seen him so pleased with a gift in a long time. Highly recommend this.
I use the Polar A3 for all of my exercising routines whether it be biking, resistance training or just plain walking. It is very easy to use and provides and stores all the my exercising statistics.
Instructions could be a little more detailed in setting up the Polar A3 Heart Monitor. Otherwise it works great. Just so you know, your Heart Monitor does effect the heart monitor's on the cardio machines.
Good value for the money. Made well and works great. An added bonus is that it works with a lot of the machines at the gym. I don't even need to wear the watch. Haven't tried it swimming yet.
After reading the usual instructions, which were logical and easy to follow, I tried the monitor. Worked well and gave me feedback on my runs. Based on the feedback, I changed my starting route to a flatter one and that let me warm up a little more. It really showed me that I need to warm up before I run.
Gave this to my girlfriend for Xmas so that she can get the most out of her spin classes. It works so well that she's started to use it for other workouts as well....hiking, walking, etc. She says the chest sensor is perfectly comfortable and loves the simplicity of the watch functions.
This is the first heart rate monitor that I've used. I found it very user friendly; however, it came with two identical instruction manuals. . .both in French. All of the packaging was multi-lingual, but the instruction manuals were evidently packaged incorrectly. I guess that's why it's on Overstock. Regardless, I assume I'll be able to find a manual online or figure it out on my own.
Great heart rate monitor! Easy to program, had it set up in 8 minutes and is comfortable to wear when excercising. great bang for the buck.
I was very dissapointed in my purchase as I was under the impression I was ordering a new heart rate monitor. When I received it, the box had obviously been resealed. Also, the battery was dead and I had to send it back to Polor to get a new battery.
It is quickly fit on and the readings pop up immediatly. Great buy.
Excellent product, but you do need to be a little bit of a techy to do the initial settings on the watch.
THere is more here than I will use, but it is a good monitor. Make sure the strap around your chest is damp or it will not pick up!
