Don't Buy!
This product does not work! Just while testing the detector to calibrate we found it could not identify anything we put on the floor! Let alone was buried in dirt or sand or mud! The only item it could identify was a large pair of metal scissors with the base right on top of them. Sweeping action availed nothing! When we put coins and jewelry on the floor to test it did not beep at all even with being right on top of the items. DO NOT BUY! Waste of time and money!

DIsappointing :-(
This was purchased as a gift for an 8 year old boy. Getting it assembled and running was easy.Using it, however, was another story. It would not "see" small metal objects, even laying on the floor. The only thing it found buried was a large (18-inch diameter) metal grate. Found a couple of large bolts on the ground, but did not see coins, a watch, and other similar small items. All in all, a disappointment for the child and so for me. I gave it 1 star for the bolts and on for the grate.
