  We purchased these for an upcoming Alaskan cruise. Will update my review after the cruise, but from playing with them around home they seem great. The auto-focus is really nice. No silly dial in between left and right. They don't seem to focus on close things (within 100 feet or so), but past that and these are great. Even looking at a mountain a few miles away I could see the trails, etc. I believe they will work out great for what we want.

  Although the optics appear to be adequate for an inexpensive low end scope, the tripod is a different story. It broke when I opened it for the first time - flimsy plastic, poorly designed and assembled with an instruction booklet (in several languages) that describes another product. Snapped like a matchstick - poor beginning to the product. I happened to have a metal tripod nearby using a standard thread used in most cameras and tripods, it works. I will use the scope for a while to decide if it is worth the money spent.
