Wow
from slc, ut,  Aug 24, 2010

I don't have a Callaway visor, and sometimes I even show up to the course without my shiny golf shirt. But for someone who shoots in the upper 80's for a round of 18, these clubs are just what the golf gods ordered. They have a great feel and hit the ball straight every time. They kick the ball up fast out of the rough and work equally well off the tee where the driver is just too much club, or the fairway is a little to narrow. They scratch pretty easy, but I don't have any furry animal head covers for them yet. The faces are scratching a bit as well, but for the price, who cares. I have removed my 3 and 4 irons as well as my 3 and 5 woods from my bag. This trio replaces them all, and hits better.

great clubs
 from palm springs,ca,  May 16, 2010

I read the previous review and had to see for myself. They are easy to hit and have a nice COG which is lower. They will have a place in my bag next to my Titleist's which are tons more money. Just because they are inexpensive does not mean they are cheap. I compared them and they have approximately the same angle degree as the 3,5 and 7 iron. They just cut out of the rough and you can probably use the 22 degree like a 7 wood - distance of 200-250 depending on how hard and accurate you hit. Very impressed.

rescue me
from chicago, il,  Oct 5, 2009

the clubs are fine. they are well balanced and have been useful for lies in the rough and even on the fairway. not sure you need a 22, 25 and 28 degree club as they don't hit that much differently.

Great Clubs
 from Winston-Salem, NC,  Nov 10, 2010

I purchased my first Rough Cutter many years ago and eventually lost it in a military reassignment. I purchased a set of two about a year ago and have been just as thrilled with them as the first one. My three regular playing partners share my Rough Cutters (22 and 28 degrees) each round. At days end an inventory has become mandatory to retain these jewels. I am waiting to be notified when they are in stock so I can have some insurance for the tall roughs and difficult lies.

Great Fariway Woods
from The Villages Florida,  Jul 17, 2010

With these three clubs you have a loft for every situation. I find I don't have to chop down on the ball and therefore get more distance out of the rough.

nice
 from ny,  Jul 13, 2010

Can't beat these for the price- well made, solid, very well balanced club. The grip isn't the finest, but what do you want for this price? Even if you don't get a perfect hit, the weight of these clubs give tons of extra roll. Good for the fairway, or the rough. My golfing buddies liked the look and feel of these and were stunned by the price. I've been using flexi shaft and have not gotten the distance I want. I will go to these alot instead of my irons. They have the shape of a fairway wood, not a hybrid. You won't be unhappy with these clubs.

Not Bad
from Salem, OR,  Jul 11, 2010

In comparing these to my Perfect Club hybrids, I'd say they come pretty close, although I still prefer the Perfect Club 21 and 24 degree hybrids. Even though both sets use steel shafts, the Rough Cutters feel a tad more flexible, and it would take a while for me to get used to that. Also, the faces of the Rough Cutter clubs are a bit forward of the shafts rather than in line with them or even off set to the rear (a configuration that is supposed to help correct for slices). It might be because of this that I get more of a fade with these rather than the draw I typically get with the Perfects. Overall, I'd say these are well made clubs (my golf buddies thought they looked really nice), but I think they will end up in my wife's bag rather than mine (I'm a high handicapper). Definitely good bang for your buck.

Gotta Get 'Em
from Saint Joseph, MI,  Jul 9, 2010

These are great looking clubs with a high quality build. I can hit them a mile and the shafts (True Temper Dynamic Gold) help me not to hook the ball sharply. In fact, I hit these pretty straight with a little fade or draw-something I have never been able to do with graphite. If you buy these and are currently using graphite, be aware you will need to adjust to them. Other than that, I think you'll be happy.

Excellent Clubs
from Saint Petersburg, FL,  Jul 6, 2010

The turf rail bottom is really excellent in thick grass. Fairway shots are even sweeter. You get three great clubs for what you would be lucky to pay for an average second hand club. They each feel well balanced and correct in your hands. They all strike the ball very well. It works like a Hybrid, but gives you the advantage of some additional loft for a softer landings. This is the best golf club value - bargain that I have found yet.

Pleasantly Surprised
from Macomb, MI,  Jun 26, 2010

When I received these clubs I was pleasantly surprised by their quality, given the price. I have played a few rounds with them now and they have definitely improved my ball striking not only from the rough but also from the fairway.

hybrid golf clubs

These two clubs look more like a 5-metal for fairways than a hybrid. I purchased for my son and son-in-law for birthday presents.

golfbuyer
from Arlington, Virginia,  Jun 11, 2010

Clubs like these help complete a set of golf clubs. Just like players, both amateur and pro, carry several different wedges, it is good, and sometimes essential, to have other clubs in your bag that can perform different functions. If you are in heavy, long or wet rough, you cannot always advance the ball with basic irons and metal woods. With these clubs and their special design, you can truly cut through more difficult lies and get some distance out of the shot. I may not carry all three every time I play but I will always have at least one in my bag. They work!

Don't let the price fool you! These clubs work!
from Harrisburg, IL,  Jun 9, 2010

I ordered these clubs because the price was so low. Even if they did not improve my game, little would be lost. To my great surprise, they do work--and quite well! I have played two rounds with the club with the highest loft, and it has worked as promised the times I have taken it out of the bag. Not only have I used it to escape the rough, I have also used it with great success in place of my 5 iron on the fairway. The shafts and grips do seem to be a bit on the short side, but not enough to change my rating. All three clubs arrived without blemish or defect. I highly recommend these clubs!

Rough cutter Hybrids
 from Maryland,  Jun 1, 2010

The name says it all. They truly do help you get out of the rough. Easy to use and I am not a great hybrid fan. But, Somehow I do end up in the rough ....a lot. Not happy about the grips but was able to get them changed and wow...Thinking about getting another set.

Great Clubs for the price!!
 from Houston,  May 30, 2010

Great clubs for the cost.. $10 each.. These feel as good as my burner rescues but for only a fraction of the cost. They perform as described and really cut through the rough to get out low lies.. Must buy..
