If you are planning on buying this product thinking that it will be your "robotic pool boy" that will allow you to just lie around the pool all day and look good...forget it. This device should be looked upon as a "cleaning helper" that will roam around the pool on its own, picking up a fair amount of debris and storing it within its filter bag until you clean it out later. I lazed around the pool while watching it do its thing and noted that it DOES climb walls on occasion and DOES avoid/overcome obstacles that might trap a lesser machine. It DOES NOT navigate stairs AT ALL although it made several valiant attempts at times in its roaming routine. The machine is relatively easy to set up and put into use. When pulling it out of the water after its cleaning cycle water will drain out of its body cavity but some of the debris it just sucked up will also come out. Cleaning the filter is relatively easy and I had no problem whatsoever with filter removal or reinstallation. It is strictly a vacuum device, not a scrubber.
