This is the third scope I have had on a savage 110 30.06. I had a Simmons Whitetail scope and a Swift Premier scope. Both scopes failed. The glass on the first one cracked and it wouldn't hold a zero, the second would not hold a consistent zero. I was in the Army and used to shoot in competitions in the military so I know that it wasn't the shooter. After four years of wasting time and ammo I ordered this scope. It did not let me down. I love the scope, It is clear and I like the BDC reticles. The magnification ring turns very smoothly as does the side parallax. I compared this scope with a Leupold VX-II 3x9x40 at a Dick's Sporting Goods before I ordered this. The Nikon had a clearer image and less distortion. The mag ring on the Leupold was extremely hard to turn to the point that I thought it was broken at first. I was not impressed by the Leupold and it was more expensive. This Nikon Buckmaster tracks perfectly and holds zero on my lightweigh 30.06. I am very happy with this scope. My only complaint is that when magnified over 12x there is some fogginess if you move your eye the least bit out of center, but I will mostly use this scope for hunting and won't have it turned up over 8x unless I am target shooting. Overstock shipped promptly and the packaging was good so the scope didn't get bumped around too much in shipping. I would recommend this scope and I am very happy that my scope frustrations are finally over!
