  I bought this spotting scope as an extension of a pair of lower power binoculars for my young son who loves watching the birds from our window. I wasn't really expecting much for the price, but figured a decent scope with tripod would suffice for his less than demanding needs. Wow. We got more than we bargained for right off the bat. Optics are clear and bright, moving parts are secure and tight with smooth movement, zoom was phenomenal. Had to step the zoom to lowest power to just start using it, and then it honed in very quickly to a tight focus. Zoom is amazing, and clarity at all settings was very good. Now I want to keep it for myself, but he has already gotten it set up and is using it so I guess if I want one for my own uses I will half to buy another one.

  these work well, as long as when you get them you burn the part on both ends of the handle where the string goes in, just for a second with a lighter to bond it on there so they dont come out.

  my husband laughed like a big kid when he opened the box. real leather. fit perfectly. he loves them. comes in 1/2 size bigger than his foot because he is 11.5 and i think i bought 11 and it was no problem.
