This is the perfect starter telescope for a child. I purchased it for my 8 year old grandson who has expressed interst in the solar system and related subjects. I think this is an excellent choice for the money. When the time comes to up grade I will consider purchasing the same brand. I anticipate that my grandson and I will have many wonderful hours exploring our universe.

  • Quality telescope!

Ordered this after reading on-line reviews. Son wanted a telescope and this seemed to be a good, first one for a young adult. He is using in Duluth and enjoying wondrous views over Superior. I haven't checked in with him lately -- but, he really liked this gift upon receipt. Definitely recommend.

Have not really had a chance to use it yet - just hope the viewfinder will hold up in inclement weather.

    • How accurate was the sizing? See below
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. This telescope is very well made, except for the problem metioned below.
    • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? everything went together well, except on the Viewfinder - where there are two screws provided to hold it in place, the holes where you insert the screws were too big, and they would not thread into place. Because it was a Christmas gift, we did not have time to return it before Xmas. We wound up glueing the screws in (just hope they hold up!!
