I purchased this Smithsonian Mega Science Lab for an extremely bright young boy (9) who is the son of my neighbor. He absolutely loved it!! It will keep him busy; enable him to utilize his skills and imagination; and - hopefully - occupy him so his mom can get some rest! Ha! He's adorable, but a bit high strung - those with great intelligence seem to be that way. It was a wonderful gift and I'm thrilled that he and his entire family are happy with the Mega Science Lab!

We got this for my son's 10th birthday and he loves it. There are so many things to do in one package. The set comes with safety goggles which he loves to use. (especially for the dino dig-I think he feels like a real scientist) Definately a hit!

At first my grandson was not impressed because it didn't light up! By the end of the day all of my grandchildren were gathered around him trying to extract the bone from one of the projects. It was the cutest thing seeing him with the safety goggles on supervising the process. I am always looking for something unique and will help the child learn something new.

My child loved this for her Christmas present. It was very educational and she had a blast digging the "bones" out of the plaster of paris. It was an excellent gift and lasted her a few days of play! I would definitely recommend this for your child!

Ordered this as a birthday gift for my turning 8 year old grandson. He could not wait to get the box opened & get going on some of the different activities. He actually took it along to the park that day & started w/the dinosaur dig activity. He was happy for hours working on some of the activities all by himself & others he did need guidance & help. All in all I think it is a great gift for young children that love or have an interest in science.

my grandson and his father, did this motor , for my grandsons BD.,and they both raved about how fun and interesting it was, i hope smithsonian comes up with more thing like that for the 11 to 16 yr olds, he loved it , and i was so happy i picked the right present!
