I bought this product for a small safe to put things such as files, papers, important data files and such with the hope of using it as a gun vault in the future. The reason i picked this product was because of the supposed fast action opening. This device does not allow you to open it quickly. Although the buttons form to your fingers for fast entry of your code, the buttons do not allow you to punch in the code quick enough. You need to allow a certain amount of time between pushes and it can be difficult to enter the code due to cheap buttons. In my opinion no matter what kind of lock your vault has weather its a turn combo or pin entry, if you practice enough, you will be able to enter the code easily and under pressure with quick speed. This vault will only hamper your ability to reach your gun.

I gave as a gift. Should keep the kids from getting in trouble and still be handy in case of emergency.

I purchased this even after reading some reviews about "unresponsive" or "mushy" buttons, but I don't experience that at all. Yes, the buttons are 'soft' so to speak, but every button press was registered by the safe and I've yet to have it not open on the first entry of the code I set. The code is easy to set, the batteries are not difficult to install at all. The interior light is nothing special, but that was no big deal to me. It had a bit of an odor at first, probably from the foam or adhesive for the foam, but nothing terrible or offputting. I got a great deal on this and don't regret this purchase one bit! I would definitely recommend this safe.

This is my third 2000 series gunvault, I like the delux because of the optional power supply and LED light inside when first opened. A great product to keep little hands away.....

Nice little safe for storing one or two pistols and some ammunition. The shelf is cheap plastic so when you put a couple of boxes of rounds on it, it bows in the middle. The LED light isn't much to work with it just lights up a dime side circle on the top shelf. I like that it comes with the actual adapter, bolts to mount it and the template to help decide where you can mount it.

I read mixed reviews on this gun safe but for the discounted price on Overstock I had to go for it! So far, I haven't encountered any defects. The only three issues I've had could be chucked up to user error but nevertheless here they are: 1) Battery installation - this was a challenge and I'm a woman with small hands. I struggled with this task for about 25 minutes. The manufacturer should have come up an easier way of installing the batteries. 2) Security cable punch out hole - when I hear 'punch out' I think 'easy' but no sir! I bought the security cable to strap down the safe and thought punching out the hole to secure it would be a breeze but after about an hour of banging on it with different hammers and nails I gave up, I had to drill through it which was not an easy task. The manufactuer should just punch the darn hole out and sell the safe with the security cable ... just add another $10 to the price, or sell an option that comes with the cable. 3) Motion sensor - moderate vibrations will set off the motion sensor so I may need to adjust the sensitivity. Overall, I've only had the safe for about two weeks now so I can't complain (yet!).

Overall, I would still buy the product again and it seems to be a good design, but poor quality assurance from the manufacturer. 2 Issues to be aware of when buying the product: #1- the door wouldn't open properly when I first got the safe, I ended up having to grease up the latch mechanism to get it to open consistently on first code entry #2- the optional cable lock that I purchased with this safe, the safe has 3 "pre-punched" holes, one on each side and one on rear so you can choose which side you want to attach cable. My complaint, is that the holes were in NO WAY pre-punched, and I was unable to use a nail/hammer as directed in the directions to clear opening. I ended up having to use a drill bit and drill out the opening (thus having to manage keeping metal shavings from getting in-bedded in the non-removable foam within the safe. In short, the overall product is a great idea, I am just disappointed that I had to basically "fix" two separate things on a brand new (and costly I might add) device.

THis gun safe is exactly what I needed to store my pistol safely out of reach of grandkids. The safe is well constructed and easy to use. Every homeowner who has a pistol should buy some type of safe so as to keep unwanted hands from getting hold of the pistol.

worked great the fist day i got it the next day i went to get in to the safe and the door would not open called the phone # on the Manual and talked to customer service and they helped fix it the door opens fine now.

Overall, its the same gun safe as found in most gun stores, except it was cheaper on O.com The only problem I have with the safe was that it was difficult to install batteries, they could have designed something easier, and a pain to bolt down. Other than that I am quite satified, and would buy another safe.

If I'd known the light was going to be so dim and of such short duration, I would have opted for the same size standard model instead of the deluxe.

Product was exactly what I expected with key, mounting template, interior light, and dividing "shelf". Quality is exactly what I wanted/expected, but the dividing shelf is a little flimsy. It holds a sufficient load (ie revolver) just fine; however I wouldn't put gold bars on it. One of the rubber stoppers for the door was loose but the other stops it fine, and glue gets the second back in place. The light on the interior is helpful but not a deal breaker. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to find the buttons blindly, but your hand fits in there well and so does my wife's. Recommend and hope it only gets opened to check on content.
