I ordered this for myself; I am a 40ish female with very bad (and premature) lower back problems, so riding a regular bike doesn't appeal to me because of the pressure put on the low back. I have always like using recumbent exercise bikes, as they are so much more comfortable than an upright bike. I have a 3 year old son who I plan on pulling in a bike trailer behind me (although I need to figure out how to rig the trailer up to this trike, since trailers are meant for attaching to a bicycle wheel hub ... I may have found a way with a BMX trick attachment -- have yet to try it out). But in the meantime, I have taken my son on my lap riding this thing ... and it was FUN! And comfortable for me and my back! The steering is cool. It was such fun that I bought my son the Mobo Mini for now, and the Mobito for when he gets older. He is a tall 3 year old ... not ready for the Mobito, but might soon outgrow the Mini ... he can pedal the Mini good (he has not been able to really pedal plastic type tricycles), the Mobo seems to pedal much easier and smoother than plastic tricycles/big wheels. I'd like to buy my husband a Mobo, but he is 6"4" and skeptical about it (it is an expensive thing to buy without trying it out because of the return shipping cost and restocking fee). But for me it worked out great (I am 5'4", 115 lbs). Anyhow -- very fun for the young at heart! I think my mom in her upper 60s will enjoy it when she visits too (she's had two hip replacements and a knee replacement) ... she is fun-loving and likes riding bikes, but this trike should be better for her condition. You do need a place where you can ride on flat pavement though, like park or beach sidewalks with no hills.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Looked a little scratched up (like a returned item), but not bad ... feels sturdy and looks good. Could use more detailed assembly instructions.
Have not been able to ride it much to discover if there are any manufacturer's defects.
However, it does not have gears, which I did not even consider when purchasing. I never had any kind of bike with gears, and I wish that I had realized the basic reason for gears in order to have an easier, more enjoyable ride....rather than thinking that gears are for speed racing, steep down-hill grades, etc.
Even on the very lowest up-hill grade, this "bent" is quite an effort to peddle without gears.
So this it is exceptionally good for cardiovascular exercise and leg strenghthening.

Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? so far
I purchased this for my still very active 83 year old uncle. It was pretty straight forward for me to assemble it. All parts were there. The components are all heavy duty and look like they will survive a lot of use. It is very easy to ride and control. It is not a lightweight though - weighing a bit under 50 pounds. My uncle loved it and expects to get a lot of use out of it in the small town where he resides.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very High Quality

Special Needs rider needed the safety pedals, which did require assistance from the factory assembly crew to follow through in order to accomplish a desired end result. They were very patient and to the point concerning the modifications.
