If you want to really work your inner/outer thighs, this is AWESOME!! It's much better & less expensive than the Leg Magic. (Leg Magic has a handle on it which isn't going to work your core -- esp. abs -- as much as this will!) Easy to use -- doesn't take much for you to REALLY feel it!!
If you do the exercise the way the instructions say, you can feel the burn immediately. You can feel it working right away.
I work out at a gym but I got drop foot (not nerve based) years ago and the doctors missed it. when I finallly got PT it fell short.... the ankle is rigid and atrophied and needs to go thru all of the old movements. This lets me do passive work by letting the foot stay in place and move the leg.
I love overstock,I hated this product. It is akward to use. Where to place your feet is unsteady. It is hard to maintain your balance. If you buy this product get the one that has a stand for balance.
Based on the price I thought this would be a junky plastic piece of fitness equipment like any of the ones sold on late night infomercials. But it's pretty great. It comes fully assembled and is very solid (metal frame, doesn't move around, solid foot grips with treads, fits under a bed). It's a lot harder than it looks and left me feeling kind of sore in that outer thigh problem region leg lifts never seem to touch. If you do it long enough you can get some cardio out of it too. The effort of balancing during the motion is probably good for core strength too. * Although it is low impact I don't think this would be a good item for elderly people or people with really bad knees. It's kind of hard on your legs and you need to be fairly strong to get enough repetitions out of it to make it worthwhile.
This machine seems to provide an effective workout, but is somewhat awkward to use. Unless you have a chair or handle bar from another machine for support it is hard on your joints. I did just get it, so maybe I still have to get used to it and build the muscles needed to use it effectively.
I purchased this leg shaper because I have been wanting to purchase the Leg Magic unit. The Leg Magic unit sells for over 100.00 and this unit for a little more then 50.00. The machines do the same thing with the exception of the Leg Magic has a handle. I worked with this machine for over 30 days about 2-3 times a week and did not have any positive results. No firming, no inches lost. I would have returned it earlier than the 30 days but because of the weight of it, it would not be cost effective. Maybe it takes longer to see results???? Not sure, but I would not purchase something like this again and I am glad I did not purchase the more pricey Leg Magic.
The machine came in a timely fashion, but doesn't seem to work on areas as promised. I have to give it more time - I'm probably not standing on it with the proper posture or something. I feel it on the inner thighs, but not the outter. I'm sure that if I get it right & feel it on the outter thigh, then I wil feel it work on my bottom and possibly my abs. Like I said, I really need more time to make a more adequate assessment.
I bought the leg shaper a few weeks ago, and I do like it a lot. I haven't had it that long which is why I didn't give it 5 stars for durability or workmanship. Everything is fully assembled when it ships to you which is great; I just don't know how durable it is since I haven't had it that long. With that being said, I have had no problems with it. My only complaint is that there were no instructions on different positions or heights that you can do with your body to work different areas of the legs or get a deeper workout. You kind of have to figure it out on your own. The price, the size and the quality so far have been great ,and I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.
This is most deff a great machine that gives awesome results within weeks.
I felt it after 10 seconds and i can do entire stack at the gym. I was surprized how hard it is and how much i felt it in inner thighs! I was afraid it would hurt my knees since some machines that move laterally does. It came put together out of the box.
At first I thought it would be difficult to balance, but it's not at all. The very first time you use it, you really feel it working. It was easiest for me when I stood the way the woman is in the picture (with arms bent at the elbow, which made it easiest to balance). The directions say to start with feet apart, then bring them together and hold for 5 seconds. You do this for 60 seconds (so 12 times), and you REALLY feel it. I usually do three sets when I wake up, three in the afternoon, and three at night. I've had it for a week now and I LOVE it. The only drawback is, I don't think it works the outer thigh as much as I expected it to, but it does work abs since you flex your stomach automatically to keep balanced and still. The trick is to move your legs slowly and in a controlled motion. At first I was jerking because it was so challenging, but the more controlled my movements are, the more I feel it working. Also, there was NO assembly. You pull it out of the box and it's ready to go, and it's so small it fits perfectly under a bed or couch. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone trying to slim their thigh-area.
I agree with the first review. You will definitely feel this. Very easy to use and very effective.
