I really put this one through the test in the last set of hurricanes. It lasted the entire 5 days of power outage that we had with Wilma and the batteries are still strong. Even with the hurricane shutters on during the day it illuminates the whole room. Every member of my family keeps one at the bedside and in the kitchen for those summer power outages also. It works best when you flip the entire head up to the ceiling and the light illuminates the whole room on high. Great for taking to the bathroom, it doesn't roll away when you need it most! It is very durable and we dropped it many times and it held up to the most durable tests we put it through. I can say how much we have found this product useful and easy to handle. It will even hang on a nail or hook for better coverage of the room. The product looks very nice also, and is lightweight even with the three C batteries in it that it uses. I would recommend this product as a hurricane or storm supply anyday. Much safer than candles too. Found it very useful for an LED lantern!

I expected this light to be higher quality and brighter. It felt like it would break as i had to force the batteries in. The shipping took the longest of any product I've purchased from O.com. I haven't used it in a power outage so far, so i have no idea how long the batteries will last or how durable it will be, but it seems stable and was a good value even if turns out to be less than expected.

The lantern seems to be well made, although the hanging loop may not last long in actual use. It stands on its own and seems to be stable. The LEDs are bright but the output is not focused, so the amount of lighting drops off fairly quickly. It's more of an area light than a spot. I think it's a good value for the price.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my Dad. He does a lot of grilling and in the winter months, it's too dark to see what you're doing outside, so I purchased this for him to use while grilling. He absolutely LOVES it! I tried it out myself and the light is bright and works great. The light stands up on the shelf attatched to the side of the grill and allows my Dad to grill now hands free- no more dinky flashlights to hold. The adjustable neck is a nice feature as well. I'm sure he'll be getting lots of use out of this light!

We used this light on a recent camping trip. It worked very well to light up our tent as well as help us find our way to the facilities in the dark. Great buy for the price.

Great white light. Provides good indoors and outdoors light that reaches out. Used it outside one night and was very pleased with it. Made out of plastic so I don't know how strong or longlasting it is but looks good. Compared to what I have seen in the stores this was a good buy. It will be good to have around if the electricity goes out.

Took this lantern camping and had plenty of light to read myself to sleep in my tent. Kept me from worrying about the bears. Also works well as a table lantern.

We like the product very much. I wish Overstock had more LED products. LEDs save so much energy it is sick! And they are very bright. Offer more LED products.

As entertainers, my wife and I need a good lamp for our on stage equipment table and songlists. This lamp is lightweight, flexible, and doesn't throw off heat, making it ideal for our application. Although using it on battery power works great for us by eliminating cords in a tight area, we would have liked the option to either purchase the optional adapter for plugging it in, or given information on how to get one. I can't seem to find the company that makes them, or any information on it. It's also very good dealing with Overstock. They have a good variety of items at a reasonable cost, and shipping is always very prompt. We live in an area approximately 80 miles from a major town, and I am comfortable dealing with Overstock. Happy In Arizona

If there was a power shortage, it would be some help, but not nearly as much I expected based on what I had read before purchasing.

I got this for more light when the lights go out and keep it around and I don't care what the other reviews say, it is perfect in every way, light weight, and gives off alot of light in the room when the lights are out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks. And it isn't bulky and even though it is light-weight, it is well made and worth every penny I paid for it, which wasn't alot!

Light is less than expected from the number of LEDs involved, but adequate in the absence of other lights, should work well in a dark room or tent. Light, plastic seems a bit fragile, although I haven't crashed it to prove the point. Like the snazzy appearance. Workmanship is always a question that only time and use will resolve. Overall, I like it.

They are plastic and a little light without batteries so it looks like they're going to break when they get a hit or drop on the floor but the LED's make up for it. They will last forever and they give quite a bright light. Excellent for power outages or in an emergency kit since the batteries (3x D) last a long time.

I gave this as a gift for Christmas to my brother in law. He loved it and will be very useful for camping. The light itself seemed to work well. Very light weight. I think the adapter should be included in the purchase so they don't have to always use batteries or go out and purchace an adapter to plug it in.

My brother and his wife travel in their motor home often since he's retired. He was thrilled with the lantern. He said he would get lots of use from it. Thought it much more expensive than it actually was, and he buys this kind of thing frequently. I was pleased.
