How much does the whole unit weigh?
I was looking for something to use as a frame to hang my suspension trainer from and for pull ups. It also had to be something that was a stand alone (not mounted to a wall, etc.), height adjustable, and sturdy. I was pessimistic about this product, but the price was right and other reviews were positive. I bought it a year ago (March 2013) and have used the heck out of it. It has quite a few parts and bolts, but I was able to assemble it in about an hour; and that was really taking my time. It adjusts a great deal in height, feels very sturdy (I weight 250), and has a nice powder coating. Surprisingly, the bolts have all remained tight, and thus the entire frame. One caveat is that it absolutely needs some kind of grounding or it WILL move. One option would be to bolt it to the floor. I was not willing to do that, so I went to the big box hardware store and bought tube sand. I got 8 for about $** and laid four on each side on the feet. Works perfectly and is solid as a rock....

I was extremely impressed at the quality for the price. It does need to have weight at the bottom to hold it in place. Overall though for the price if what you pay this is a well worth buy.Read More
I was thinking of purchasing the Monkey tree which is a slim version of this rack, but costs a lot more. Though i can afford it, i wanted to try this rack for much less, and i am glad i did. I read other users reviews of the rack, and all were very pleased, which tells me allot about a product whether it is low or high cost. In quite a few ways this rack is superior in what you can do with it over the monkey tree rack. I use it with the jungle gym, and pull up assistance devices, as well as other core training equipment, and it works perfectly.Read More
This rack was exactly what I was looking for. The size fits perfect in our new home gym. It is completely stable so there is no fear of injury . I left to run an errand and was gone for 2 hours, and when I got home my husband had just finished putting it together. I had laid out and verified that all parts and pieces were there, so he said it went together without a glitch. Love it. We are using it with Jungle XT suspension straps.Read More
I ordered this just looking for a suspension rig. I didn't expect a lot since it's so inexpensive, under $** *SHIPPED*. When it arrived the box is nearly 150 lbs, and the construction is incredibly robust. It took me and two friends about 2 hours to put it together. I was so impressed I told two friends and they BOTH bought one. We put a second one together last week and it was missing a backing plate (the box had also opened up in shipping), but Impex is sending a replacement plate at no charge.Read More

FAQs about Weight Benches

To properly use an exercise bench, think beyond bench pressing to the multitude of opportunities for including it in a general fitness plan that involves using a wide range of weights and machines.

How to Select an Elliptical Trainer
They help you lose weight and tone your body, but elliptical trainers do it in a way that is less stressful on the joints than stair climbers and treadmills. If you're looking for a great cardiovascular workout that tones your arms and legs and is easy on your joints, an elliptical trainer, also called an elliptical machine or an elliptical cross trainer, may be the way to go. There is no shortage of choices in home elliptical trainers, from gym-style cross-trainers to mini-steppers. Select an elliptical machine based on your goals, your fitness level, your finances and the features you desire in a home gym machine.
Treadmills vs Elliptical Trainers
New variations of tried-and-true exercise machines are always being introduced to the market as the technology of exercise equipment improves. Two exercise machines that have gained popularity are elliptical trainers and treadmills. A major advantage to elliptical trainers is that they possess little risk of injury to the knees, hips, back or ankles. Meanwhile, treadmills are home gym machines on which you can run, walk or jog. The treadmill has been in the marketplace for a long time and is a long-standing piece of standard equipment for most exercise enthusiasts. Elliptical Machines: Elliptical machines present a lower risk of injury to the body. This home gym machine allows the individual to stand in an upright position while supporting her upper body by holding onto the handrails. The individual is able to pick out what muscles to train by shifting the strength on the legs or the arms. This provides for a more flexible workout machine. The machine bears its name because it works to copy the foot's elliptical motion as well as the rotation of the hip during walking or running. Advantages of Elliptical Machines: Since elliptical machines work the upper and lower body, they help you reach your target heart rate more optimally, providing a better cardiovascular workout overall. Individuals can burn a larger number of calories in a shorter period of time. Muscles that benefit from this machine include the legs, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps and the back. Elliptical machines are also relatively easy to operate and are energy efficient because they do not use much electricity. Treadmills: Traditional treadmills were developed to help you walk, run or jog. Treadmills differ in advantages as there are some machines that have programs that can be customized based on your weight and fitness level. You can also manually control the program to increase or decrease the speed, the incline or the duration of the workout. Walking on a traditional treadmill, however, creates more impact on the knees and hips and may be a cause of injury for some users. Advantages of Treadmills: Some treadmill models have a cushioned surface to support the knees and other parts of the body. With these models, there is a lower risk of injury and an increased level of comfort for the user. Moreover, treadmills provide you with the option to run, jog or walk in the comfort of the gym. Also, you can burn calories by increasing the heart rate, providing a good cardiovascular workout. Buy Home Gym Machines Back to Guides Directory Buy Home Gym Machines
