I use the iControl 500 to relax and straighten out my back before going to bed. Just a few minutes inverted is enough to relieve the pain I'd otherwise have when I lay down. The key feature of this table, and the reason I bought it, is the "disk brake system." It allows easy control of the rotation of the table, positively locking the table when the lever is pulled back. When I'm ready to go rightside-up again, I just release the brake lever, shift my center of gravity while pulling on the grab bars, and rotate. Locking the brake lever prevents any flopping around while releasing the ankle cuffs and dismounting the table. The table frame is sturdy and seems well made. Highly recommended.

Well built and disk brake works great! This machine works exactly as advertised. I went with the iControl so I could have a machine that served more than one purpose. The disk brake enables you to EASILY pick any position and do sit-ups or stretches or whatever you want from any angle. This works as advertised and is easy to set in any position you like. Also, the height-adjustment is quick and easy so if two people of signinficantly different heights are using it, it is not an issue to quickly set it for the correct height. The "backrest" section is nice and comfy and the cover appears that it will be very durable. The overall construction is very nice (no sharp edges and nice welds) and solid and the assembly was not bad at all. As others suggested, use some real tools like real wrenches and a real screwdriver and it will go together a lot more easily than with the supplied tools. It will go together with just the supplied tools but it will be more laborious. The instructions could be better just by labelling the different fasteners more clearly as to location but I got it assembled without anything left over or out of place! I reduced the rating by one star becase the ankle holder could be better. You have to pay more (way more than it should be!) for the better ratchet-style of holder (next model up in the line) rather than this "spring-and-pin" style that is supplied on this version. Being that it is the only thing that holds you in place, cheaping out here seems very short-sighted in my opinion. It does the job but, even though it is very well-padded, it can't be tightened down as much as I would like so it puts extra stress on your ankles. Despite that, I am overall satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this unit based on it's price-point, construction and versatility.
