I purchased 2 of these safes so I could have a loaded gun upstairs and downstairs in my house. Lets face it, an unloaded gun is just an expensive rock to throw at someone. I have a small child and now I don't have to worry about him getting a hold of one of my guns. I would recommend this safe to anyone. Easy to use and easy to program.

Strong construction, a little difficult to install batteries. Easy to program and easy to open with combo. Opening not quite wide enough for a standard automatic pistol (Glock or Smith models). The next level up is 9" instead of 7" wide which may be better if you're using this for a quick access security safe.

Neat little safe for what it is. I like that it has both electronic and a key lock. The ev400 is more basic because it has no external power supply and relies on batteries only. It still has a small interior light which is nice. If the batteries fail, you can always resort to one of the keys. You can also bolt it down, if you have a place to do that.
But mostly, it is good for keeping a loaded weapon in your house without fear of it being accessed by someone other than yourself.
I think it would be nice if the buttons were closer together, or in a grooved pattern so you can easier feel them in the dark, but you should still be able to access them fairly quickly.

I bought 3. They came just as ordered and right on time delivery. I will probably buy more.
