Everyone seems to like these, so I'll just cover the considerations. I gently use this electronic hearing protector three to five times a month at the range. After an hour or two, the ear cups get a bit swampy - there is no way to wick moisture out while wearing them. Best to change to ear plugs and let the muffs dry out for a little while. The battery door is a bit awkward to remove and reinstall, but does not need frequent battery changes. I changed the batteries after a year because I thought they would need changing soon, but have never run down a set of batteries. These are great to help with conversations with the wife or instructor while on the gun line. When the next lane opens up with an AR15, you can forget any conversation until he runs out of rounds. That is the nature of the product, not a shortcoming of this model. Sound amplification gets hissy at full volume. It is noticeable but not unbearable. Then again, you can hear your own footsteps and breathing at that volume. One night I was investigating a noise in the house with the amp turned all with way up. Nearly jumped out of my skin when the ice cube maker dumped a tray. Remember, finger off the trigger. Did not find anything out of the ordinary and did not shoot the fridge. For the price, my expectations are exceeded. A more expensive design may have full amplifier volume that has less background hiss, but I rarely turn up the volume more than conversation level, about half way. After a year and a half, buying Howard Leight ear muffs was a good decision.

I ordered a set of these amplified earmuffs because I needed a spare set and I am really surprised at how good they are. My main pair have a retail price of over $300 and they are very sturdy and have held up for 6 years now but my new pair at a fraction of the cost are really quite nice. It would be easy to retire the expensive pair and just use the Impact Sport earmuffs, they are that nice. They use AAA batteries which you can find anywhere and have an auto shutoff feature that will save the batteries if you neglect to turn them off. Several folks at my local gun club have these and I have heard only favorable comments, everyone loves them.

These are one of the best Electronic Earmuffs I've ever used. They are comfortable, they fit snuggly on your head, you can hear conversations as if you had no Earmuffs on at all, And yet, the absolute micro second that the gun is fired it muffles the sound. And you can still hear people talking in the background. The one thing you do get if you turn them all the way up on high is electronic hiss noise. But if you turn the sound back enough to get rid of the hissing noise, you can hear people 30 feet away talking to each other. At least, that's the way my pair is working. Love em. Used them with High Power rifles and 44 mag pistols. Fabulous.

Not bad for the price. Very nice being able to hear people speaking without constantly removing and repositioning ear protection. They do interfere with my shooting glasses a bit but I'm still experimenting with shooting placement. Thumbs up.

These earmuffs are the best for ear protection for shooting. We have several types of guns and have tried different types of ear protection and these have proven to be the best because you can hear when others are talking to you but not get the loud bang when the guns go off. A must for any shooter!

Product is all that it promised. You can be involved with a conversation and still have the dampening effect when a shot rings out. Takes a bit to find that "comfort" fit but once you do it delivers.

I had never used electronic ear protection before, but one day at the range conviced me this is the way to go. You hear everything except the high frequency sound of the firearm going off. You may talk to people and fire your weapon without removing the earmuffs. Outstanding Product!

The earmuffs work great. It's so much better going to the range now. The guns shots are louder when I wear these over the Remington non-electronic pair I got from Wal-Mart, but its still well under anything that would hurt your ears. The volume knob is easy to find while you're wearing them and voices are pretty clear.

These are exactly what we wanted,they work great!! We bought three pair for extreme hunters in our family and it really works. From my 17 yr old son, to my 45 yr old husband and his 73 yr old father they work perfectly on all ages with various hearing ranges

I wear the earmuffs at the shooting range and its phenomenal. I can hear the range master and the noise from the pistols and rifles, are a distance sound. Superb equipment at the reasonable price!

I was pleasantly surprised by the ear protectors. I liked them so much that I bought another one for my wife. The directions are a little unclear about the battery installation, but anyone with common sense can figure it out in less than a minute. It is amazing how it amplifies low level sounds. This will be great on the shooting range and may even be good for hunting.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. These are are excellent quality, it is amazing how it mutes the sound. The microphones are excellent, you can hear a whisper. There are many products like these on the market, but these are well worth the money, for your hearing is so irreplaceable.

I've bought 3 of these items they are great for hunting. They allow you to amplify sounds in the bush, in stereo so you can hear where they are coming from, and still protect your ears when you shoot. I bought some for me, my son, and my close friend. We all like them and use them.

They are amazing at blocking out gunshots, but still allowing you to hear voices. They worked so well at amplifying the voices that when the boys grandfather couldn't hear us, we gave him the earphones to listen. We went out shooting with these and they worked so well that no one had to yell when we were talking.

GREAT PRODUCT. LIKED THEM SO MUCH I BOUGHT A SECOND PAIR.

Wanted an earmuff that didn't have to keep flipping up to hear others at the range. I normally shoot with others and in tactical exercises you can put them on, adjust the sound, and keep them on the entire time and forget about them. They are lightweight and have a thin profile so they fold up into a ball to drop in your gear bag. It came with a adapter to plug into an ipod or radio which seems to be an interesting feature and might use it if target practicing by myself. I would recommend these as they temper the blasts pretty well.

Very pleased with the earmuffs. They fit well and fold into a compact size. Amplification exceeds what I need and blocking of loud quick noises (gunfire on target range) works very well. I would recommend this product to others who want something better than low end noise cancelling earmuffs.
