    • hover lites helicopter

I bought a hover lites helicopter for my husband. He loves it! Only problem is the tail rotor broke, we tried to jb weld it, but it won't stay. Is there anywhere that this part could be ordered? We do have a spare, but wondering about the wiring. and one more question, the little wire that hangs below, i believe it's the antenna, it's just supossed to hang, isn't it?Thank you,Janine from Maricopa

    • disapointed

I got this at Christmas for my 12 yr old son, only lasted for about 3 hrs. Very poorly made for what you pay for it. The tail broke off just from landing on the soft grass side ways, I tried to epoxy it back on but would not hold after that. I will never buy a helicopter until I can take it out and see how it is made. Cheap plastic!!!!

    • Not for beginners

My 8 year old wanted a RC helicopter and I thought this would be a good one. I was wrong. It lasted about 10 minutes. We followed directions, we were in a large open space that was grassy. Every time the helicopter landed, something else broke. The lever on the controller completely broke off. This helicopter cannot go forward and backward which made it very difficult to control. Overall, we were very disappointed.

    • Not a Toy

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on this item and believe most are result of the buyer's impression that this is a childrens toy. It is, by necessity, of lightweight construction and won't stand anything but a perfect/light landing. The first time I landed mine (I thought softly) the landing gear broke. After a few more flights the tail boom snapped off when it landed, again softly, in the grass. I've patched it together and am still trying - hopefully I'll figure it out before I completely destroy it. I have learned that it is (1) too large to safely fly inside; (2) Won't tolerate any wind (I mean NO wind, not even 1/10 MPH) and (3) needs a large area. Unless you have access to an indoor stadium or gymnasium you need a football field with, again, ZERO WIND. I think if you have a large enough area so you have some time to practice hovering and speed control (so you're not forced to set it down to avoid an obstacle) you can learn to land it softly enough to avoid damage. Overall, for the price, I'm impressed with the sofistication/engineering as it's a technically sound concept. Quality control could use a little work as I had to "modify", for example, the tail rotor drive system to keep it from binding up. Spare parts: Every site that I could find that sells spare parts is out of stock on landing gear, tail rotors and main rotor blades so I guess that tells you what breaks the most. I would recommend buying two so you can use one for spare parts - a few spare parts cost as much as an entire new helicopter, especially after shipping costs are included.

    • 2 Flight Limit

Flew the aircraft twice. First fligth (charge) was spent adjusting the tail rotor control. 2nd flight was good. Third flight never happened. After a full charge, no response at all from helicopter :( Broke.

I am a aircraft mech., and after the first flight of an altitude of 3 feet. my son brought it down and landed on the skids like he was supposed to. It still rolled on the side and broke the battery support tray, and rotor stabalizer. ONE FLIGHT, LAST FLIGHT. DO NOT BUY IT. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
