I absolutely love the binoculars. My complaint is that there are no instructions regarding how the tripod works, and it is not self-explanatory. The idea is great, the delivery sucks.

These are average for watching birds but good for the price. I found the tripod pretty useless but perhaps you have a table near a window where you watch the birds. I didn't like how the tint changed the color of the birds. A cardinal, for example, looked greenish. This pair would be a good beginner choice but you need more power to look for banding and details such as that. These are just not strong enough for details. They are large but fairly light. Do understand the size of these though. They will need to be in the carry case not a pocket! Overall, pretty good for the average watcher. Good deal for the price.

I ordered the binaculars in anticipation of helping with an elephant study with Earthwatch. I won,t be going to Keny until September but have enjoyed watching the birds in the park.

We use the binoculars to watch the eagles nesting in our neighborhood. They are just fabulous, and make you feel the birds are right over your head. Everyone wants to borrow them. A great product.

Overall I thought this binocular was good. The disappointment was that the tripod was not that sturdy.

I ordered these for my husband and he's thrilled with them. We live on the water and he likes to watch the boats. We have some much lower-powered binoculars that we use on our boat -- the 20x70 optics will make you sick if you're on a rocking boat -- but with these, he can get a much clearer view from our deck. When he first opened the box, I thought the binoculars were so large that they'd be really heavy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they're fairly lightweight, have surprisingly good optics for the price and are very easy to focus. The only drawback I can see is that if you were using them in the field for birdwatching, they might be sort of bulky to carry. Would definitely recommend to friends!
