This pack is amazing! Having done some serious trekking and hiking throughout Europe, the Rockies, the High Sierras, New Mexico, and Canada, when it came time to buy a new pack for a 3-month trek throughout Southeast Asia, this pack not only fit my budget but also surpassed my expectations and needs. It had ample space, multiple compartments for easy access, plenty of hooks and holsters, sturdy body, excellent support and weight distribution, durable everything, and an impenetrable rain shell (the shell also helped enclose excess tassles, rope, strings, etc. so that they didn't accidentally hook to anything. Add to this the day-pack, which was also tightly water sealed and very light, and this pack served each and every use I planned for and accomodated all other unexpected needs I encountered. I hope this back pack lasts me a lifetime.

I used this backpacking Europe. It was excellent. The detachable pack was used as my toilet/wetstuff bag and the sleeping bag compartment was an excellent hamper. The main compartment kept all my stuff dry and clean. This is an excellent extended use backpack (1month).

This bag was purchased prior to my trip to Costa Rica. I am completely satisfied with all of its amenities such as its detachable little back pack and a rain protective covering. This bag is all I took with me for and extended stay. The bag space is incredible and you will love all of its hidden compartments. It even has a place for ice and beer!!!! I tested this bad boy out on a 3 month tour of South America and it was great! I brought a different day pack for the one it comes with is very tiny but I use it at home. Everything stayed dry and was able to expand with items acquired in my travels. It was great to have the top part break off as an enlarged fanny pack if you will for when you wanna stash your pack at a ranger station and just run up a trail. I did have a mouse eat though a side pocket one night but a quick stop at the store on the way, and a patch of the park later my pack was fixed and had character!! Happy travels!

Bought this pack for my Salmon fishing trip to Alaska. Overall it's a great pack with almost too many zippers to put stuff in. The detachable small backpack is a plus for taking off and on the plane with you. I packed it full of clothes, reels, fly rod, and other things and it weighed in at 45 lbs and still was easy to carry on my back.

I purchased this pack before going on a month long trip of Asia and was absolutely satisfied with my purchase. Every part of the pack came in handy from the rain cover, to the various straps, to the detachable small backpack. The backpack took alot of beating up and still stayed intact. I would recommend this backpack to anyone regardless of the price and make they are lookin for, it's ideal for backpackers and travelers because the removable small backpack held my valuables, ie passport camera, so that I could carry it with me everywhere even if I checked my bags. The fit is great and I'm 30 waist 5'10". Love this pack and have already referred a friend!

This backpack can hold lots of gear, and has a great deal of straps to attach things to. I recently used this backpack mountain hiking, and it was comfortable even though it was packed with gear and heavy. Great backpack!

Haven't had a chance to use it for its intended purpose but have filled it and and used it for a small hike and it is comfortable to wear and holds lots

Did a great job for 3 weeks in Europe. Perhaps too many straps but I´m sure they´re all good for something. I put the raincover on when I checked it for flights so as not to worry with all of the straps getting stuck somewhere. 5 flights down and she´s still going.

I bought this backpack for a 3 week trip to Europe. The size of the bag was great, held just about everything I needed while still remaining easy to transport. There are lots of extra straps, which I didn't use. They did get in the way from time to time. It has some extra pockets which make it nice for anything you don't want to dig around for while on the go. The daypack isn't very big at all. I used it to put important documents or music device. It is too small for anything else. Overall, its a great pack and it hardly looks like I used it, thats durability.

I just had this pack ordered for me and I am EXTREMELY excited to get out and put it to the test. It looks great, better than I thought. My old pack just didn't cut it - didn't have the features this one does nor the 5,000-6,000 c.i. packing capacity. This one looks nice, feels nice, and straight up IS nice. The features on this pack are priceless...speaking of price, you cannot go wrong investing in a pack like this one. It has all the bells and whistles (literally has a whistle on it) you'd ever want in a backpack. Some people have written about the excessive straps, and I appreciate their honesty, but I love the extra straps! I'd for sure rather have extra straps than not enough for what odds and ends I strap on my pack. I'm really excited about this hiking pack...I've been needing one just like this. If you're looking for a good pack that's large and in charge, you'd be crazy to pass up this buy!

The only problem I see with this pack is that it might hold TOO MUCH stuff!

I have used this once on a recent trip to Costa Rica and it was perfect. I would recommend this pack, I cant think of anything negative to say.

This one is for serious backpacker. i find too many straps with this bag, some i don't even know why. i have not used it yet, but it looks every good. well made.

It seems pretty durable and it's light as well as pleasing to the eye. I'll have to wait until my fiance' tries it out before I can give any more review but so far seems like a great product!

this is a great pack. it was very durable and had a lot of room for storage. I really like the detachable packs on this for easy access to things. I also love the way it sits on my hips, very little weight on my sholders. very adjustable.
