I ordered 2 of these. The first one was arrived safe and sound. The second one had a split red rubber covering on the end of the metal hanger where the bike hangs. I called and got a new replacement cover. Getting the replacement was easy but the while putting on the new red rubber cap, it too started to split like the first one. The metal bar is simply cut perpendicular and has sharp corners. While pushing it on, it is easy to make the red cover split when it hits the end of the bar. If anyone else does this, you want to push it on but leave an 1/8th of an inch gap so the metal bar DOES NOT MAKE CONTACT with the end of the rubber cap.
For a better experience, manufacturing should have rounded the corners after cutting the metal and made the red rubber covers a little thicker (than paper). The red rubber covers are extremely thin.
I didn't use this device as advertised. I used the basic design but I modified it and attached it to the side of the garage without the base. This allowed me to have a bar which held the 4 bikes on the side of the garage under the eves and off the ground. The eves of the garage prevented rain from hitting them but I used tarps as well to cover the rubber tires from the sun. I bought these because they met the basic design without completely designing my own. I wasn't too concern with the red covers since I used rubber water pipe insulation for better protection.
