HASBRO ION with 2 cartriges
 from UT,  Dec 31, 2009

We bought this Hasbro Ion for a great price around 30 dollars. For the price, this is an excellent product. Of course it isn't perfect at responding, but it is good, and not too discouraging even for a toddler. I would say it "magically" responds to the wave of our children's hand around 90% of the time. And for the other 10% of the time, you just take a few seconds "tickling" it, and it will eventually get it. A few hints: it works best in a bright room (although it has a brightness option so in a dark-ish room you can change it to see yourself better, but the response isn't as good), and without traffic crossing behind the player. Traffic can signal the wrong response. This is so fun, almost like a wii for preschoolers. The best part, that a wii doesn't have, is that a child sees himself in the game. This has been a fun ego booster for our child. What child doesn't love to see himself in a movie, photo, or mirror? Games: I don't like the Spongebob game at all; it's loud and obnoxious (what else would you expect from spongebob?) and a little too difficult for preschoolers. The pre-set games are a little dull, so buy the gift pack with extra CDs or buy them separately. Dora is fun, and Blues' Clues is just right! Our preschooler loves making the cake, cracking the eggs, frosting it with a wave of his hand, etc...I highly recommend this game. It's just what you'd hope for by looking at the package.

Hasbro Ion Gift Pack
from Savannah, GA,  Jan 14, 2009

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson and was disappointed the interaction was not as depicted in the description. It seems hard for him to put himself in the "shadow" on the screen and his motions don't always affect the screen as directed. Bottom line - it really does not look like he's interacting on screen and a part of the game.

it's okay.

I bought this for my son and he has trouble getting the "eye" to find him. I've adjusted it many times, and he still has trouble. Overall, it's good. Just needs more work is all.
