The workmanship is nice. The set is attractive. Checkers is a great way to teach and practice strategy... that is all good. My only problem with the set is the tininess of it. It is only about 7 inches square. The pieces are pegs that fit into the holes on each space...the colors are clear. But the board itself is so small that the size becomes a hindrance to visualizing the game.
I would be giving this item a higher rating if it were either less money or larger. It certainly is small enough to tuck in a backpack pocket or even larger pocketbook, but you need finger dexterity to play it because of the size.I'll be using it when I have appt. with the kids for an alternate to listening to the complain about the wait and as a DS substitute, but it won't be something grandpa can play with them. The pieces are just too small for him.
Way too small and Over priced. Should sell for about $5
too small. my 5 year old was playing with a 65 year old and they both had difficulty handling the pieces and complained about the size.
