This jade chess set is handcrafted by artisans in Hotan, China, a city along the Silk Road on the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, in one of the most remote parts of Xinjiang Province. Hotan is renowned for its jades and silks, which are considered the finest in China. The king measures approximately 3 inches in height with a base diameter of 1-inch. The set is packaged in a compartmentalized silk-lined storage box.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in color and sizing. Subtle shade variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements are approximate.

I expected a lot better quality with this item. The case was very poor and cheap looking. The workmanship of not only the case was bad but the chessmen were also very very poor to look upon. Consider carefully before you purchase this item.
