  • This is a great purchase.

    This is a great purchase. I did my research and went with a Mini Deluxe for one reason - it comes with an AC adapter (even though the description said it did not). The battery life is suppose to be horrible. The included AC adapter allows you to use it without batteries. Just plug it in the wall and go (the ac jack is the silver thing on the exterior left hand side). I mounted mine on its side inside a bedside table (had to buy shorter mounting screws). Works great and provides quick access. The size is pretty small - just big enough for a full-size 9mm and a clip with enough room to get your hand around it - but not room for much else. I couldn't get two pistols in there or a box of ammo. The keypad works just like it is suppose to. Takes less than 3 seconds to open it with the proper code. The codes are easy to set and the multi-digit punches make it feel like it's even safer with children in the house. Overstock's price was one of the best I found and their shipping is cheap as well. I received it within a week. Hard to beat.

    This safe has got some cool features and from what I can tell, it's pretty strong and will protect your weapons and other valuables just fine. I found only 2 drawbacks, but, for me, they were major. The buttons don't always register that you've hit them unless you are right on. By default, it beeps whenever you hit a button, but I didn't want everyone in the house to know I was opening the gun safe. When it's off, it's very hard to tell if you hit the button or not. Also, if you mess up, there's no way to clear the combo, you have to wait a couple seconds. If I had to get to me weapon in a hurry, this could be a major problem.The second thing is that it's limited where you can mount it. If you're not using the cable-lock option (which means the safe can move around at the end of its tether rather than stay securely in place) you have to attach it to a material that you can drill through. They've done their best to put the set screw someplace you can reach it, but I couldn't make my drill fit in there to drive the screw in.On the plus side, the spring-loaded door is great and I definitely recommend getting the model with the interior light.

    mounted both in side application , the horizontal one is very easy to use the touch pads , however the other one (vertical) is a bit more challenging to operate key pad. this shouldn't take away from the quality of the units. The extra power cord is a real plus / not to have to really worry about batteries .

  • Secure & Safe Gun Vault

    I loved the look of this gun vault, but it was a little complicated to set up. Also, I had intended to purchase a biometrics safe and thought this one would read my fingerprints. It doesn't. You can only program a pattern of finger touches into it. Or use the key. But it is heavy and I do feel secure that my grandkids can't get into it.

    Safe works exactly as described. The power outlet is perfect so you do not have to worry as much about the battery dying. I have no complaints with it so far. Big enough to fit my 40 cal handgun, a small box of ammo and some cash.
