Purchased first for use in Fairbanks AK during outdoor hockey games. I use them also for travelling on my lower back instead of the much more expensive and way less effective heating products labeled for the medical use. We also us them on the boys sports injuries needing heat. The heat produced is so nice, and normally lasts longer than 12 hours. More air circulating keeps the pad heated - too many layers tight against it will not let it warm, but exposed again it will rewarm.
