I received this product today, and excited to test out a new driver as well, I went outside to set it up. I have a decent sized yard so I was able to simply stake the net into it and did not have to go through putting together the stand (for use on flat, non-stakeable areas). The setup was quick and going forward will take me perhaps all of two minutes. // I was immediately surprised at the size of the net. I envisioned it to be smaller. It provides a significant area of coverage, but if you are unskilled as I am you will manage to shank some balls in odd angles beyond it. // The net, as I said, is big, but does allow balls to go through. Interestingly, the depiction on the box that the product arrives in (although not on the pictures here on Overstock) there is a post stabilizing the net from the back. I realized almost immediately that such another post would be helpful to mitigate the wind (which was blowing my net towards me) and also to ensure that balls did not improperly lift the net and sneak through (which happened three times over the course of perhaps 100 strokes). I am sure with some thought I can arrange something that will have the desired result of not allowing balls to sneak underneath the net (which rather defeats the whole purpose). // The 'green' that comes along with the product is functional, yet small. Until I am much more confident in my swing I will not use it over concrete or other hard surface for fear of my clubs. // The durability of the product is yet to be determined. However, I already managed one minor tear in the net that appeared very early on and to my surprise. I naturally thought my ball striking was so powerful it ripped right through it! More likely, it was teared before it arrived or in the initial setup (though, I'd like to think I would have noticed). Besides that, the 'green' stood up handily despite my attempts to deface it with poor play and everything else appears to be sturdy.
If you are serious about correcting your swing or maintaining the swing you have already grooved, don't use this thing. About the worst thing you could do for your game is hit real balls off a tiny hard mat into a net 15' away. You get poor response and even poorer visual confirmation of a well struck ball. Spend $6 and go to the range, hit them from the grass like you would during play. Mine is going in a garage sale.. Hopefully some soccer player or baseball player is looking for a practice tent. Would make an excellent net for 3' tall butterflies.
It was for a golfing buddy, but he said when its raining its something to do as he needs lots of work on his swing? I don't golf, for those of you who do you will understand.
Got this great golf net for my dad for Christmas. Both he and my mom are fanatics when it comes to golf and sometimes it is hard for them to get out when they want to. But with this they can go out into the back yard and hit the ball whenever they want.
I surprised my husband with this gift for Christmas and he loves it! It was very easy to set up and it takes a full force swing with ease. He is very pleased with this net. He would recommed it to everyone.
Net is hard to keep standing up but if you use the PVC pipes provided and stick them into the ground and then put the net poles in it works well if you can do this, Overall it works OK. Balls do sneek through now and then and the rubber T's take a pounding. Mat is just about the right size. It works but you get what you pay for,
works better than i thought it would. catches 99% of balls.
I purchased this product about a month ago. So far, I am very happy with the net. I use it to hit golf balls and also to assist my daughters with hitting practice (softball). The net is used for softballs hit of a tee and soft toss. It has held up well for the cost.My only knock on the set is the size (small) of driving mat, but it work.
I gave this as a gift to my son-in-law. He used it immediately and loved it! He said it was easy to setup and worked much better than expected. He set it up in the back yard and not one golf ball escaped the net.
Easy to assemble, compact and seems sturdy enough. The hitting mat could be a little larger but the one provided is adequate.
Excellent quality and perfect for practice. I would recommend this to anyone. Great quality too.
An excellent product and value for the offered price. The golf net is great for golf practice, as well as for my daughters' volleyball training. I would recommend the product to anyone seeking an inexpensive training net for multiple sport applications.
This net takes little room in your yard and is a snap to put up. It is a great way to practice with all your clubs. Better than going to driving range because you can reuse your balls! I am only a beginner but this is helping me practice, practice, practice with drivers, irons and wedges.
This is a great item to work on your swing with, but you need to be pretty close or you'll go right over it.
The poles snapped the first time that I put it together. The mat was shredded within 30 swings with an 8 iron. I had to tape the poles and the mat is now in the bottom of the garbage can. Cheap...cheap....cheap. Do not buy!
The golf mat is perfect for any type of use but I highly don't recommend the net since it can't withstand any slight of wind. Get a net that has good support or one of those "cage" nets. This one just won't work.
We have tried several different brands from major sporting goods stores - and this one is by far the best in quality and price! A sure hit for my husband's Birthday present.
This is an excellent product and has provided an additional resource for my wife and I to work on our golf game.....if you saw our game, you might send us two of these. We need it!!!
It arrived very quickly & easy to put it up. If you are looking for something temporaly use this will be good for.
Set up easily, exactly as directed. Easy to take down in severe weather conditions . Stops ball flight as advertised including the grounders, would recommend.
