I bought this as a possible alternate to ny SkyCaddie, with which I have had constant problems. I'd say that the Sonocaddie is a disappointment vis a vis the pictures in the advertisement. Small, not bright scfreen. It's an adequate device, but not great

Works great. Easy to use and picks up the Flag very well. I have had zero problems with this range finder.

There is no monthly fee...you can pay a yearly fee of 29.95 but it is only necessary to get any updates. Other than that it comes loaded with courses.
