I purchased this large size chess set for my 10 yr old grandson to play chess with his grandpa. Love it when it arrived, but have not gifted it yet. I would recommend you read the specs carefully - the picture makes it look like the chess pieces are 2-3 ft high and they are only 8 inches high.

The item was as big as they said, I went by picture size and invisioned a xxlg chess set. The picture makes the set look 99% biger then actual size. That was a bummer. If you hold a coke can up to the back row king queen they are almost the same hight maybe 4 inches larger. The pictures give an unrealalistic image. The pices are light weight and for outdoors if windy or board left out long time the game will not last. I think the kids will like it. I was not impressed/

Giant Chess is a thrilling large chess set for someone who plays chess . It is affordable and much larger than the standard size chess sets .

I really like this, and so does my 9 year old. I do suggest that before playing you lay it out for awhile to allow the board to flatten. We put books on ours.
