Canyon hiker I ordered this pack for a 7.5 mile one way hike down the Grand Canyon, I did not want an expensive pack for a single trip, but you get what you pay for, before the hike down the bag ripped around the top seam. None of the straps stayed secure and I had to tie the waist strap to keep it on.

Hello susanm, the Trail Hiker backpack features more than 2,800 cubic inches of space and special compartments with plenty of room to hold your gear. The Trail Hiker Backpack has expandable straps and a top drawstring opening to hold gear securely. It also features a daisychain, metal gear rings and side zippered pockets. Mesh water bottle holder. Made of durable rip-stop nylon. Padded shoulder, back, and waist straps. Great for comprehensive emergency kits. It has a drawstring not a zippered top and it does not have a frame. It does have multiple compartments. As far as height, the backpack itself is 26 inches high. Have a great day.
