  • Just what i was looking for!

This is a great looking set of clubs; anything short of sexy doesn't do them justice. That being said, I had them for all of one day before the finish was scratched on at least half of them. To be fair, that one day consisted of a few hundred golf balls or so being hit, and they still look good with the scratches (otherwise know as "experience). If you are looking for a set of clubs that are easy to hit...well, go look somewhere else, because these are not cheaters clubs (cavity backs). I upgraded to these from a very old set of yard-sale-acquired Ben Hogan blades, which I love but were getting a pretty worn out so I decided to be preemptive and not have to deal with being club-less for a few weeks. The Hogans were a regular flex, which left me a bit inaccurate due to my swing speed; and the prophets are a stiff flex, which took about 5 yards off my distance comparatively, but with much more precision. Contrary to a lot of theory, I would absolutely recommend these to a new (younger) player. They are a great way to advance your game really quickly and give great feed back. If you get frustrated easily or are an older player just getting into the game, consider another club, but if you are willing to put some time into them they will not let you down. My only real dislike for them is the grips. They are very generic and feel a little chinsy to me, but hey...we're re-gripping once a year anyway right?

    • How accurate was the sizing? just fine
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. For the money the product is excelent
    • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? yes

This is a great set of clubs, but the question remains: What kind of shaft ? This refers to the brand and flex. pluckyduckie on Apr 18, 2012

You have an option to choose a flex when you order them. Whenever ordering clubs you should know your swing speed (senior flex for slow speed, stiff for high speed). Mine came with a steel appolo shaft, I ordered stiff flex. Some people are ordering just the heads and getting them shafted with a little extra weight in the heads. I can see why someone would do this, but I don't think it's necessary by any means. What you may want to do is get them re-gripped right away, since the stock grips are a bit chinsy. jessebontra2 on Apr 29, 2013

What kind of shaft is in the irons? particularly the stiff. baby0ni on Apr 1, 2012
