The dollhouse kit arrived within the promised 5 business days. The wood is not a good quality and results in walls not ending up straight and not being smooth - and this in spite of sanding. This kit is not something a child could put together and it takes about 3 weeks to assemble and paint in a nice (collector's) way. The house itself is beautiful which is why I bought this kit in first place.

We bought this house a few weeks ago to build with the kids in my Preschool class. The kids have had a lot of fun decorating and one of the girls has become an expert at seperating shingles. This is my 4th dollhouse in the past year and having done it before it makes a lot more sense. I do not suggest this for a beginner because there are a lot of pieces that are not well labeled and the construction is not as good as other houses I've made. It's not terrible construction once you build it up, but the pieces that are very small tend to crumble when punching them out of the sheets and there are a lot of more difficult construction details in this house. The bay window is tricky and the area above the porch, plus 3 dormers makes for a lot of confusion. There are no holes marked for where the seperating walls go which is good and bad depending what you prefer. It makes it difficult to decorate before assembling (which is the most important thing to do). The stairs were easier to assemble than in other houses. This house has a lot of character but the only way we were able to do it was having my experience. This was my first time shingling which was fun but time consuming & the shingles bow with glue so you have to hold them for a while as the glue sets. It's nearly done and I'm excited for the kids to see what we've made! It's a great looking house with lots of character but buy it only if you are ready for a project and have done houses before. If not there are better beginner houses out there.

First I made a mistake ordering, I ordered a wrong dollhouse and was process already, but costumer service took care of my issues right away. The dollhouse took me an hour to assemble, from start to finish. Product is great better than the plastic Barbie house, great investment for your child. I suggest when assembling: 1. Big space to work with. (Living room) 2. Take out everything from the box- lay out every pieces with the numbers on top (possibly from left to right 1 to _I forgot_) This will take about good 20 minutes. 3. Follow instructions one-by-one while looking at the final picture. This will take good 30 minutes. 4. Finally set the small furnitures. I assembled mine at night when my daughters sleeping and covered it with linen and surprised here when she woke-up the next morning. Completely worth it, it's great for her Barbie/frozen dolls.

Great value! There are enough pieces to fill a whole house, for the same price other places charge for a piece or two. After assembly, you can paint or stain the pieces for a custom look. These aren't exact, 3-d replication pieces. They look cute and can be dressed up easy. If you want "show-quality" furniture, it is going to cost A LOT more to collect all of them. The kids just want to play with it, and this provides a whole house of furnishings! :) Really not bad at all...

This was my first dollhouse and of course I had to pick the most complicated one. I consider myself very handy and have done major renovations and woodwork in my home so I didn't find this dollhouse to overly complicated to build but it is incredibly detailed and very time consuming. I would not recommend building this with a child since the pieces tend to splinter often and many of the pieces are very small. If you are new to dollhouse making or not very handy and in to detail, I would suggest trying a smaller dollhouse first. Also, if you are building this as a gift with a specific deadline give yourself plenty of time to work on this. I purchased this on Thanksgiving to build for a Christmas gift. I started out spending about 3-4 hrs a night 7 days a week but ended up spending about 20 hrs a day for the last 5 days in order to get it 95% completed by Christmas. All said, this is a great dollhouse and my daughter loves it. Overstock had the best price and incredibly fast shipping.
