misleading -- HOLDS ONLY 1 WHEEL

    Dec 21, 2014

a grimpeur  from upstate NY, Rating:3.0

Bought this for a wheel set, that is, a bag to hold a 2 wheel set of a road bike to store wheels off-season. Upon arrival found it is one undivided bag that holds only 1 wheel. I knew it was unpadded, which is fine, however, I now must order a second one to store the other wheel-- doing away with the value I thought I was getting. There are many wheel bags available, padded and unpadded and of average construction like this, for the nearly $60 it will now cost me to protect both wheels. So, watch out-- not the deal advertised/ I thought it was. Complained to Overstock by phone that they need to clarify the listing/title, which is misleading. They did nothing except note my complaint.

  • Challenge with Mountain Bike Tires

    Jan 27, 2015

With a really crowded garage and 4 bikes, we needed a reliable method of getting the bikes out of the way. An against the wall rack took up too much room for 4 bikes so we tried to use these hooks to aligned the bikes perpendicular to the garage walls. By packing the hooks sort of close together to minimize the footprint against the wall, it made getting the bikes in and out of the hooks challenging. I think if all 4 bikes were road bikes, and thus with narrower tires, it would have been fine. If we had spread the hooks out wider between bikes, I think this would also have been fine. For our purposes, the design for fat mountain tires was not ideal. The hooks are well made and sturdy. The rubber/plastic on the hooks seemed prone to nicks and tears as we manipulated the fat tires out from under its grip. For a single or dual bike hang with lots of wall space for a road bike, I think it would work very well. To hang 4 bikes on a wall as closely as reasonable was not a perfect p...

    Good bike for the money

    Jul 20, 2014

This is a good bike for the money...that is once you get over the fact that it's not exactly as described. The fact that these are not 700cc wheels is my biggest issue with this post. Thankfully I looked up the bike on other websites and realized this. Eventually I decided to make the purchase anyway. Bike came in less than adequate packaging however. Both wheels had significant lateral movement. There was also some play in the crankset (huge problem if not addressed immediately). The wheels themselves felt cheap, there were no yellow decals, and the tires left me wishing for more. After taking it to a shop and dropping ** they were able to straighten it out and tune the bike. It rides very well and is definitely worth the price especially when compared to similar priced bikes at Target or Walmart. Just keep your expectations in check, aside form trigger shifters there is nothing 'elite' about this bike.

I love these lights. I use them on my bicycle when needed and store them when not in use.

Really well made. Hubby put it together for my grandson and said he it was easy to assemble and really sturdy. My 8 year old grandson is a dare devil on his bike so we thought this would be challenging for him but also possible.
