I recently became involved in astronomy, starting on 10X50 binoculars. I have since acquired 3 telescopes, 76mm, 80mm and 203mm. I use binoculars for quick observing sessions where setting up a telescope would be inconvenient. I also take binoculars for star gazing when I travel where taking a telescope would be inconvenient or impossible. The Skymaster 15X70s are very comfortable to use and very bright with good optics. The surface has a nice feel and the focuser works smoothly. I have used them to view the Andromeda Galaxy and a variety of double stars. The moon looks spectacular in these. I used them during the recent Lunar eclipse. I have not used them for planets yet. They can be hand held for short periods but at 15X any sort of hand shake is very noticeable. The included tripod adapter works well for putting them on a camera monpod or tripod to eliminate the shake. I like them and would recommend them to a friend.

    Just got these a couple days ago. I am thrilled with the quality! Delivery time was just as promised..Easily saw three of Jupiter's moons the first night. If a person enjoys stargazing as I do, they are perfect for easy portability and clarity. You might want to add a tripod if you wish to focus on an object for any length of time.They do weigh a little.
