I purchased this item to use for lunch items and found it was too small. However, it was ideal for holding a digital camera with an auxillary lens. The design is such the pack can be accessed with taking it off. Only today during the installation ceremony did I realize how effective and useful it was. The pack hugged my back so that I could fit through tight places in crowds without unnecessary hassle. It is something any photobuff should have as a tool in the field.

Can't really load this pack up much. It lacks the proper straps that pull the top toward your body. This leaves the high portion of the pack pulling away from your body. It works well and is comfortable if you load it with a light load.

4 out of 5Big Butte Lumbar Pack - good for biking, Aug 24, 2007
By JolietJay from Naperville
This is a large lumbar pack, holds plenty of food, keys, phone, sunglasses, two water bottles - great for biking and some walking. However, for hiking and running, it's almost too big - at least when you are trying to carry two water bottles. It just moves around too much up/down when running or hiking. For Biking, it's much better - so I'd recommend this pack for a bigger person for biking, or possibly for other activities if using smaller (16 oz. or less) water bottles.
The waist belt could be a little wider/larger for more stability.
Quality is very good - typical Columbia quality. This product should last a very long time.

For the price, it's hard to beat the amount of storage in this pack. Not too big and not too small!
